Have a question. Has there been any discussion about there being a provision in the VTA rules allowing old brushed motors and speedos?

I am sitting on ( OMFG, how many!! ) old Cyclones and Atoms and brushed stock motors than I care to admit.

Doubt that seriously Catfish. The old VTA rules involved 27t brushed motors. Once it went 25.5 brushless...nobody looked back. Many of us are in the same boat. I was just looking at my brushed motor "collection" the other day.

Never tried a Yok spool, but Associated makes one for these cars that I think is still available. I've also removed the drive rings and balls from the diff and replaced them with TC5 teflon slipper spool pads, basically making a slipper spool. You have to sand the pads thinner or the diff will be too wide, but it works well.

Hey Catfish, take a look at this other idea for a class. It's called the Gran Turismo 1/10 (or GT10) class.

I still have heard no word on the availability of the Reventon Stock Club Race ESC. Did Speed Passion just drop the production of them?

You probably will get a better answer on the Speed Passion thread, but I thought they were going to be released pretty soon.

I wouldnt bother, they are badly made knockoffs of the trf416. Arms are brittle, suspension pins are made of swiss cheese and the shocks are abysmal. I raced a genuine TRF416 here in Australia, i didnt use it for long, it was a bit fragile for VTA down under, switched to T3 and have never looked back.

Head to your local track, and have a talk to the guys racing, see what chassis they are using. You really want a chassis that you can share setups with, and if something breaks others may have parts for.

Its common down here to hear someone yell out "AHHH i broke the >>>>>" and the next minute there's about 8 people yelling back "i got one of them, here you go. . . . " that's why i love VTA racing!

Hey guys...got another question(discussion) for you... I have my xray T1FK05 sitting right at 1550grams..was going to try and use hudy balance pins and try to balance it(side to side) but after getting it to weight, theres really no room on the chasis for weights to get it to balance out.
My question is..whats more important, getting it to legal vta weight or having the "balance" ?

I would say balanced would be more important. You should be able to get it close by moving electronics in or out on the chassis. Good luck hope all goes well.
