The invoice for receipt for the tracking number for the check number that's in the mail. When you get the invoice you have to submit it in triplicate to any of the living original 3 Stooges or Charlie Chaplin to get a photo copy of said check as an identifier. You must then pick up the check in person with 8 forms of ID with at least one living witness for each form of ID. Oh and the check is from an independent bank somewhere on the shady side of Timbuktu which is open randomly only one day a week for 2 hours at a time, but never the same day 2 weeks in a row and never at the same time. Pack light and have fun!

Haven't been on RC Tech for some time (partially due to the broken VTA thread). Glad to seen there is a new working thread so I can view oldest first.

The issue of "Will 'x chassis' make a good VTA car?" comes up a lot. If you are a decent driver, any chassis that can get at least a 3.8 FDR will work in VTA. TT-01's and HPI E-10's can be used in VTA, but the TT-01 will require either an aftermarket motor mount or will need the F201 spur gear to get close to a good FDR. The HPI E-10 will at least require oil filled shocks, but HPI E-10 upgrades are really too expensive.

I was able to set TQ for the 1st 2 rounds of the final leg of the Hurricane Series last weekend using a TC4. I even had a blown out/no oil left front shock. I had been tied for 1st in VTA for the series, but had a bad final race to drop to 5th overall.

The only reason I don't still run a TC3 in VTA is that the TC4 is easier to adjust roll centers on. The TC4 also has proved more durable for my aggressive driving style (I like to hug the boards/corners). I wish there was a gear diff option, but the ball diffs have served me well.

Bottom line, don't be afraid to use an older TC in VTA. With a decent setup and good driving any car can win in VTA.

Tony, the U.S. Vintage Trans-Am [PICS & PAINT Discussion ONLY!!!] thread is primarily used for talking about VTA paint jobs and posting pics of VTA cars. If you want to keep track of upcoming VTA events nationwide then U.S. Vintage Trans-Am Racing Part 2 is the thread you want to keep your eye on. The best person to ask about nationwide VTA events is probably DARKSIDE.

This from the person that (re)posted the string of annoying pics on the first page of this new thread? What are the odds?

I don't know why you say they are annoying. They were only from the biggest race of the year, and are of the class we are all here to discuss. And he was just letting someone know where to join in the discussion. Just so happens that that person is the one who won the carpet nats in our class. So I think it's a good thing he pointed him in the right direction.

some tracks have a fdr rules but the National rules do not and neither does my track as we follow the national rules.

Ran last night my TC4 FT and I still love to hear that hum of the shaft drive over the belt cars. Makes my car sound faster and people get out of my way

But that being said any chassis can be made to handle fantastic it just depends on how much work you want to put into it

at our track being one of the fast guys I will spend a lot of my night helping other to get as fast as me because I like the competition.

But soo much of being fast is making every corner count and not making mistakes or having to be marshaled.

Last night was pretty quite for us so it was nice to have really close racing between a few of us, nose to tail all waiting for the other to go a bit wide to get on the inside.

It was great fun and since my car was geared a little higher (and has a really free driveline) I even went so far as to start turning down my TH epa to match the others so I didn;t pull away down the straight as the close racing was way more fun.

I would rather have to be super clean and run as tight as I can to stay ahead than to start lapping people.

But that's me and I seem to be pretty alone in that theory

very true....but if any of you feel like you want a good U.S. VTA race to attend the 2012 Scale Nationals is coming April 14th at the Track @ Harbor Hobbies....would be nice to see the top guys from the last big VTA races to get it on at this event...

Lets see if we can have Champion vs Champion...Snowbirds look good, ROAR Carpet Nats look good, Southern Nats look good.....lets all put it on the line for the Scale Nationals....
