In other manufacturing industries, business stock, tooling and other assets of a company closing its doors are often purchased by another manufacturer or entity. So it may not be over. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I wonder if it was due to overseas competition or maybe his family just didn't have the same interest or passion to continue the business? That happens sometimes.

I hope so, since as of yesterday there were only two 25.5 motors on the ROAR approved motor list and neither one was a Novak motor.

We're going to use the ROAR list + Novak motors. It's what you've wanted all along...

Talk about mismanagement. How does a company that forced you to buy their product to run a class, lose money? They cornered the VTA market.
Some strange goings on......

However, this leaves me open to run a Fantom 25.5 now in my VTA car. I love it in my F1. Just in time because my old BOSS is toast.

The ROAR rule is based on the Novak dimensions, including resistance. There is only one rotor size 12.3mm. The stack is not short it's based on the VTA motor. I wish Novak was here, but now they are not. There was a special relationship there, and I appreciated that. At this point, the manufacturers who are interested have submitted motors to ROAR that comply with these rules.

Dang, bad news for Novak (sorry Charlie S.) and bad news for the VTA class in general. Was nice not having the "hot motor of the month" searches that helped keep costs low and the field even. With the low temps the VTA cars generate, a motor for VTA was generally a buy once, run virtually forever proposition.

Which is great for the wallet, but KILLS a company who only stays in business by SELLING stuff.

Not according to Fantom's website. All of their specs are within ROAR rules and parameters. If all of their other winds are approved, I'm going to assume their 25.5 will be as well and ROAR is just dragging its feet on the approval process.

Novak did not force anyone to buy their products. In fact the rules for VTA have been set by parties outside of Novak. Racers liked the idea of a single motor option for this class.

Snowy.
