Yah their site showed it in stock but when I placed my order they told it was back ordered 5 weeks.
I saw a lot of bad reviews about them so I cancelled it thinking their info might not be right.
I will wait for tower to email me when it is back in stock.

Can someone explain how you set body height to meet the rules?

There is no body height rule. You cant cut the body past the marked body trim lines..from there..mount it up so it makes the 5mm ride height and you should be golden

Here's the link...

Still shows 2 in stock and I think he does use a live inventory system. I used the search feature rather that trying to browse for it. The check out process is a little dated, but Stormer is one of the oldest and most reliable places to buy from on the Internet, so no worries there. I still remember his mail order ads in R/C Car Action magazine in the 80s.

You adjust your shock collars up or down to get ride hight

OK so the bottom of the chassis plate needs to be 5mm front and rear?
The body can be however low I want it on the chassis?
This is all new to me. I'm coming from off road so if you can be very specific it will help me understand better.
Tanks for the help

I no longer have a VTA, sold my Spec-r chassis. Is there any interest in this body? Never been ran but body post hole for Spec-R.

Ok so your coming from off road. Did you race off road or was it just bash around the yard? If you raced, set up theroy is no different.

The 5mm you are referring to is the MINIMUM ride hight of the chassis allowed. You can set it as high as you want. Some set-up call for 5mm, other 6, other 5 front and 6 rear. It depends on your car, track, and driving style. If your racing a parking lot you could go as high as 8 if it's that rough.

How high you mount the body (in VTA and USGT) is on you. If you mount it to be 5mm off the track that great, but you'll probably scrub the track and the tires. I mount my body so that when suspension is fully compressed' the tires are just shy of touching the inside. If you look at the USVTA pic thread you can get a good idea of how to mount the body. The body will always be higher up off the track than the chassis. This is to account for roll and compression.

We have a real nice off road track on my dad's property that I race with 7 other friends. None of us are real worried about chassis setups at this point for off road. But my buddy and I want to to race vta seriously at a hobby store 50 miles north of us.
So now I'm trying to learn car setups and other stuff.
Thanks for the info

We had a really nice racer-built layout last night at Indy RC for USVTA racing. We also ran USGT and 17.5 TC. That's Indy Dave on the driver's stand.

The only negative I've heard about the 69 Camaro is that the nose material is thin due to pulling the Lexan through the mold. Mine was thin and others I've seen in bags at the hobby shop were the same. All that front end detail thins out the material. You can reinforce that with some GOOP and fiberglass tape after your paint cures well. Other than that, I still think its the best looking body in VTA. Of course that's just a personal preference.
