I think its great you all have your kids racing with you!
My daughter will be running VTA tonight!

BTW, even when I run 4 classes, it's all with one transponder.
I use velcro and just switch it between cars.

Hey Jim, good morning!

That's great news! Will your daughter be running Mini as well? I hope we get enough "JRs" soon so they can start running together.

I'm going to have to pick up a TC4 or an older TC3 and get her set up to run VTA. She mostly just likes the old school bodies lol.

See you tonight!

Default US VTA Lipo Test

Ive been testing the New Reedy WolfPack 5000mAh 25C 7.4V LiPo. And I have to say its worth every penny($57.99). I wanted to see how it compared to higher "C" and priced lipos.

I took 2 new packs....the Wolfpack and a 6500 65C and ran them 3 x's each and 1 cycle with my LRP Pulsar Touch, about 6-8 mins per round

6500/65c
res 4.2
avg 7.6
975 used mah

a. 13.1 fast lap,13.6 avg
b. 13.0 fast lap,13.5 avg
c. 12.8 fast lap,13.5 avg

5000/25c
res 5.2
avg 7.54
988 used mah

a. 13.0 fast lap, 13.4 avg
b. 12.8 fast lap, 13.1 avg
c. 12.7 fast lap, 12.9 avg

both was run about 120 deg and 30 deg timming on the motor.

I like the Reedy packs and the Wolfpack 5000 25c lipo is great. AE/Reedy put us a very good lipo together to use and race in US VTA. And the best part is the price, $70 difference, with very similar results,or even better.

I plan on running these for my US VTA cars.

What is the weight difference between the two packs? Did you make sure the car weight was the same for both sets of runs?

How could lower C rated packs produce faster lap times?
a) mfg ratings are B.S.
b) C ratings don't really matter, especially with high turn motors
c) this pack is fresher than the 65C pack
d) this pack is lighter than the 65C pack
e) all of the above

I am sure with a 25.5 turn motor C racing doesn't matter as much. The cars simply aren't pulling a heavy load out of the batteries.

some, but thats the point
b) C ratings don't really matter, especially with high turn motors
I think this is true, the 25.5 doesnt have enough pull to really use the "higher" C lipos
c) this pack is fresher than the 65C pack
both are brand new out the box
d) this pack is lighter than the 65C pack
65c@310 g....25c@263 g....I added weight to get the 25c up to 313 g
e) all of the above
The lower C battery is better IMO, for US VTA...and I thank the guys at AE/REEDY for stepping up to give us a lipo for our class.

By the way when using the HPI interior tray on your VTA ride, don't cut that thing up until you try to fit it in the car. You really dont need to cut it on factory lines. Don't ask me how I know.
