I'm using a Cyclone TC for VTA but going to build a TCXX with an arrowmax chassis this winter to see if works any better in VTA - the old TC works pretty good as it is.
on the way

I don't think any 25.5 out there has proven "superior" to the Novak, big money "tuner" motors aside. No reason to debate the motor issue anymore. I'm admittedly not a big fan of the decal for timing, but it's not the end of the world. The one Novak I have has been run plenty and over-geared a few times . Still works fine.

Regarding the weight issue, I think I'd prefer to just leave the weight min. at 1550g, but allow any size 2s battery. I don't know about y'all, but I'm finding more and more limited selections for 5000mah batteries. Not to mention in my experience, cars corner balance better with a heavier battery (like 6600s I run in my USGT car). I've got a ludicrous amount of weight on the battery side of my Xray T4 and it's still not evenly balanced.

Maybe the battery performance would put older cars at a disadvantage, though, if modern cars were running higher mah packs?

But in the event that we keep the battery max at 5000mah, I'd support the decision to reduce the weight min. to 1500g to help on tire wear.

Ok, so the rules have changed and allow more esc options. Do I choose Novak Edge or LRP STOCK SPEC? I ask because I noticed that with the LRP in blinky don't alow you to change much. ...ex. initial throttle. Anything other than a value of 0 is no longer blinky. Now I may be wrong, I'm just going off what I'm reading.

Which would you guys choose?

For the price new, the Hobby Wing Justock is a good option for VTA.

Agreed, HW is the budget-priced ticket. Never seen one go poof! but for the price it's basically disposable anyways.

I think there was an LRP thread. Maybe the electronics thread or regular on-road section is best, as it would be more popular with the 17.5 and mod racers. Not many VTA guys probably have too much experience with that one, at least not the Usvta crowd.

Plenty of 5000 lipos out there....and some companies recognize USVTA as a growth and produce new lipos just for this class.

Thank you Reedy 5000 65c
