There is a 69 down the street from my house for sale. 351. I want it (but a little too much rust underneath ). Somebody make this shell!

I'm not sure of the differences between the year models, but I would love to see a good interpretation of a Cougar. Guess I need to research the different models. I don't think it will happen though. I think there is something about it that doesn't translate well to the VTA body size.

The body no, but I could see that paint scheme on a 66 Fastback. That would rock.

Snoop, I did a P-51 Mustang scheme on a SCT body. Even put the invasion stripes on the roof. That would make a cool scheme on a Mustang body. Might have to do that!

Hey VTA Guys, the time has come for me to part ways with my prized VTA Shelf Queens. These 3 cars spent the last 20 months on display inside a glass case. They did a great job attracting people to race VTA. I don't have storage space to keep these so they need to find a new home.

Take a look at the pics and send me a PM for more info if interested. The brand new wheels & tires and painted Tamiya Driver Figure do come with the body.

Here is a fighter plane scheme I did a few years ago. Could translate well to a VTA body.

I have thought about racing VTA for some time now, but there have not been any tracks really close. A track just opened up by me and so I thought I would rebuild my old touring car and give it a shot. Now to decide on a body.

I'm still trying to figure out what that chassis is. It looks like a cross between a VBC Wildfire and a Yokomo SD LCG.

I am glad to know that it still looks fairly modern! I hope it is still competitive. It is a highly modified Alex Racing Barracuda R2 with Xenon chassis and Speedway Pal upgrades.

Well, I was all excited to start racing again, but I found out that the local area does not want to accept the VTA rules and wants to run a class called "Scale Spec". The rules basically state you can run brushed Tamiya Silver cans or brushless 25.5, 2c Lipo or 4 cell Nimh (????), any body that looks scale (????), and you can run any 4wd touring, FWD touring, or any mini chassis, again (????). I guess this kills my wanting to return to on-road racing. Oh well.

Ah... the good intentioned attempt to be all things to all people. Surest way to fail.

It feels to me like the class is not important, so all you misfits that happen to have RC cars, might fit into this category, so you can all run together.
At least all of the cars have to run a driver figure. Sahweet!

why should that prevent you from racing. now the next person that comes along and says they want VTA rules finds you there running VTA rules in scale spec so now you have someone to race against. but now because you think that it has to be only VTA or I'm taking my one car home, nothing will ever get started at the local track. if you want it VTA rules only class put a little effort into racing in the scale spec and try to drum up other racers to race the scale spec class with you using VTA rules till you get enough to have your own class.

some days I know I'm just putting a car down racing myself to better myself as a driver for any class that I race, whether it be in VTA or 12th scale. but I still do it and as my passion for 12th scale is just as strong as anybody's in this forum for VTA I sometimes run it between rounds just to show the class off. same thing you can do for VTA at your local track.

Why have any classes at all? If it is all about putting your car on the track and running laps, why not just put it on the street and race yourself? Why are there classes of "real" car races? My idea of racing a VTA class is to run similar cars with spec bodies, wheels, motors, and such to keep it really competitive and close. I have raced for over 30 years and do not feel the need to just put my car on the track and run laps. I was excited about VTA because of what it represented, and the really cool scale aspect of it. I do not see the point of running minis, FWD's, and VTA's with all kinds of motor, battery, and body combos all at the same time. Doesn't make sense to me, but more power to you if it makes sense to you.
