Default Looking for setup help

I have a TC4 I've been running in VTA for years. But I haven't raced it since late 2012. Picked up a USVTA legal motor and SC, and started checking things out. I looked at my setup and thought good God is this what I was running? So I'm looking for a starting point just to see how off I really am. The track I race at is outdoors tight and medium to low on traction.

Also any hints on gearing? When I last raced the track was still allowing 21.5's

If you go to the Team Associated page, you'll find a couple of setups there. Myron Kinnard's is a good one. Start with a ratio between 3.75 and 4.0.

The Protoform VTA shells are blessings from God and Dale and were made for us to use in this class. I think the McAllister shells on the USVTA list were also made specifically for us. I think the Parma Pegasus and whatever else is on the list is stuff that just happens to work.

But I could be wrong.
Thanks for the info.

If there is a stock pavement setup it's probably good. I yed to run drew Ellis paved nats stock setup from 06 on my xray and it worked great in vta

Thanks, but I was hoping for something more modern. I did some digging and compared with the suggested setups and got the answer I was looking for, or so I think. Thanks for the help.

The absolute fastest usvta cars I have seen had protoform AM71 (javelin) or pegasus mustang bodies. But I have seen plenty of fast cars with pretty much every shell out there.

Be careful. The next VTA shell will have a little more rake in the hood, a little lower profile windshield and look a little less like it's real life counterpart. The track will be covered with them.

Does "some of us" include Mr. Rob King? If not, it is a moot point.
