Im sure it was looked from what I remember there wasnt any updates for that specific ESC. So what software are you loading on to it the HW stock blinky updates? If this is the case this I dont think is how the ESC was reported as operating.

Not sure whats going on Mopar but looking at ROAR's list
http://www.roarracing.com/approved_non_timing_escs.php

There is no software number listed so that means that there is no updates to the software. So if you are changing the software from stock Im not sure if that was the intended action or if someone mislead someone. This doesnt look good.....

I am curious, I have seen only one update released for the Justock on October 11, 2011. Which was labeled as V3_508 No_Timing. Ironically, the same "blinky" timing used in numerous HW mfg'd ROAR approved ESC's. Doesn't make it right either, IMO

So what software is now in your Justock??

Im on V3_508_No Timing, it started as V1... something, then I remember a updated that changed the brakes and the update was V1... but with all capital letters maybe ?? dont remember its been a while. So im on my 3rd update, all without a timing option, just like the Tekin SPEC dosent have any timinig updates.

Out of the box they still come with V1 software maybe V2 dont remeber its been a while.

Is this V3_508 even ROAR approved? ROAR is only listing 508 as legal might be some info left off but the newer HW esc are showing V3.1_121129_beta...so again this looks suspect and a big mess.

This is all a moot point as the software has been altered from what was shown to come with the ESC and what it was approved with it would need to be looked at again by Rob and even ROAR at this point.

Don't take my opinion as any sort of knowledge, but I don't think there's any way ROAR would ever approve a motor without a full case around it.

"Requires disassembley" = not legal. Simple.

If you can get the ring off without disassembling the motor or grinding on it, go for it.

I tried to explain some time ago what the true purpose of the center ring was, it got swept under the rug by the thread :-).

Basically, the ring is there to keep the motors at a set overall length, (outside dimension) at right about the maximum allowed length of 53mm, to accommodate for manufacturing differences in the stator height and to keep the rotor from being bound up.

You could take out the ring, then you may have to re-shim or remove shims to keep the rotor free.

wow... you definitely have a bone to pick with the class today

the class has survived, dare I say flourished over the last 8ish years, and you expect (in 1 day and a few posts) to make changes to suit YOUR need, instead of the good of the class.

sure, I'll have a glass of THAT koolaid and let watch the class die because YOU wanted something changed....

He asked questions. That's it. Questions! Are your beliefs so fragile they can't handle a few questions?

We've got a weight rule to protect these so called older chassis to keep them competitive. So I ask "Okay, which ones? And what percentage of the field do they comprise?" Its a fair question. Here's another, "Are we really making 29 people add 150 grams of weight, so the one guy in 30 with a TC4 can still be fast?" At what point does it become pointless? In two more years we'll all be adding 200 grams and we'll go "wait a minute, why does EVERYONE add 200 grams of weight?" Why, because Elmer out in Minot N.D. still runs a TC4 and he may want to sell that on the used market and how are noobs ever going to get into the sport if they can't find a used 10 year old chassis design...?

not in the least.

questions stopped about 2 pages ago...then it became justification for why he felt they needed to be changed

i get the question everything mentality - i do it all the time at work, sometimes I win, most of the time I loose
