Our race director was all for letting him race with us in VTA class, but he didn't like the way the boards mishandled his car.
I understand that feeling. When you are new to RC racing the lexan rash is worse than it is with steadier hands. It can be shocking how fast that new pretty shell deteriorates to a beat up husk. Most of us on here have been racing for a long time. We are well aware of the carnage that comes against lexan. We accept it.

I remember admiring my new body on my NEW VTA car that I was going to run. #18 Manning was still with the Colts then. I took it to the RCAR track (with a bad steering rack in the used TC3 that I didn't know about) and proceeded to spend far more time on the boards and in the wall than I ever spent in the middle of the lane. The body was a mess after one day.

I took it home that night and thought, "Holy cow! Is THIS how its going to be to run VTA???" I figured on-road bodies would last longer than off-road. Nope.

A new steering rack helped a LOT.

Default tc4 advice

Just picked up a tc4 this week getting it set up to run at local club races in Omaha Nebraska. Got it running today and put it on the scale and holy crap it way under weight. 1440 grams. Any suggestions on where to add weight. I put this out on a local thread ad well but I figured the more the merrier.

No transponder or interior yet. I don't have a personal transponder yet I currently use a track provided one. Just started racing carpet two weeks ago with a m05. Since the track currently provides them I'm not in a big hurry to spend the $$.

Speaking of the Vaterra 69 Camaro, have you guys seen this RC version done with the Vaterra Camaro (new and old)? It's really well done! Enjoy!

The house transponder has weight and counts (I think they are 30 grams), and the interior does too (I have a tamiya one here in the package, it's 101 grams with all the parts).

I think your gonna be fine.
