OK, I cant find it. What are the timing indicators on an SS motor to put it back to factory timing if the case wasn't marked before? I searched the old thread and came up empty handed even though I know it's there.
Found it...

The USVTA rules were designed to keep things fair and somewhat laid back... one motor manufacturer + two legal models = no motor wars.
The Novak SS 25.5 will run fine in VTA, and is a bit cheaper than the Ballistic. Some clubs/tracks are running their own variant of the USVTA rules where other brands (or body styles, etc.) are allowed, if that's your local track (or if you're running ROAR rules) then the Trinity motor would be fine.

They were most likely cheap (in part) because they're not USVTA legal. The Novak motors tend to have a higher resale value.
