I would like to see you run the car in practice 'til it starts to push. After it does, park it. Don't change *anything* on the car, but feel free to top off the battery. Go run the car again and does it work well or does it still push? That will be helpful information.

Personally, I think there are other questions to answer before I would make tuning changes. Right now you/we don't understand what is really causing this.
Spot on advice Tommy!

Racing is about to start.

There will be a 50 lap race at the end with a 13.0 breakout. No turn marshalls. If you get turned upside down you have to talk another driver into hitting you back over. You end up off the track then you're done! Any car can race, vta, modified, 12th scale all is welcomed!

$50.00 winner takes all!

What is everyone using for space between cars at the start? When I was in Nashville, the lines were marked on the wall and the gaps were significantly larger than what I was used to. I think this leads to better starts as the field is more spread out when they get to turn one.

I try to bring this up at my home track and people nod in agreement and then when it comes time to start the cars are placed 3' apart, and of course, there is a big pile up in the first corner.

I want them to put at least 8' between cars even if it mean wrapping around a corner. If that's a disadvantage to the people in the back, so be it, qualifying should count for something.

Same goes for USGT where I think the space between rows should be larger and the 2nd, 4th, etc... place cars should be two feet behind the inside row. But that is for a different thread.

I've put this proposal out there on our track forum but I wanted to see what other tracks do.

Locally we haven't caught on to the on-the-wall LeMans-style starts I've seen at other clubs for VTA or GT. We start nose to tail with two walking steps in between. Some marshal's steps are larger than others, obviously, so spacing ranges anywhere from five to eight feet (relatively large asphalt weekly temporary track). When we have our more-organized races (ie. the Texas EOS), spacing is more consistent.

Heard from the driver's stand prior to the start of a VTA main, "Hey tall guy! How tall are you?" (in an effort to find a dude to get the most spacing in between cars)

That does sound like a blast! I'd much rather do that than race a figure eight free for all.

I have spaces painted at 6' intervals for grid line up whether single file or Lemans. Last week we did something different with the Lemans start and alternated outside pipe for #1 and inside pipe for #2 and so on, something different.
