Mongoose was almost the same esc and it had monster brakes. Drag wasn't bad either.

Mongoose is a way better esc than the edge. The edge I think is weak . and no drag at all

Get a Speed Passion or Hobbywing. You won't regret it.

Actually my edge worked fine. I had a friend program it who knows them better than I do. That would be my only complaint about it. Got me 2nd place out of 14 guys this weekend! Not bad for first VTA run.

Hey all! I just changed from a TC4 Club Racer to the Spec R S1.
I have searched for some VTA setups for the chassis, but keep getting 17.5 or mod results.
Does anyone have any links they could share?
So far, I really like the chassis and my lap times and consistency have improved.

I am just now getting back into this hobby after many years off, and discovered this class of racing. So I bought a used TC4 right off this forum, and now I need some Electronics for it. I have a couple questions:

Has the Novak Club ESC and 25.5 Motor combo been discontinued? Amain says backordered, and another site said Discontinued.

What is a decent priced, good working Servo that fits the TC4 with factory upgraded Servo Mounts?

Finally for now where is the best place for Justock ESC's if I can't get the Novak combo pack?

Thanks in advance!

Negative on club spec ESC combo. I bought that combo and didn't like it at all.
Edge is much better ESC. I have one for $65 shipped.
The motor in that combo doesn't have timing adjustment. It's not the same motor that comes with novak edge 25.5 combo.

I have a Savox 1251 MG servo for $45 shipped also.

For you hobbywing guys. Is the HW Juststock better than the Citrix? Or is it the same piece of gear?

Forget Novak, get a JUSTOCK and a program card all for around $60

I had both, perfomance wise they are about the same(me being just a average racer could not see any difference, maybe in the hands of a pro ..), but the fit and finish is better with the JUSTOCK.

Justock has more adjustments and allows you to upgrade software.

I haven't run my hobbywing yet, but I do know I was extremely disappointed in the brakes on the citrix - I actually had to run 100% brakes in order to get any kind of reaction when I hit the brakes

I do like the more adjustability on the hobbywing over the citrix

that being said, I haven't given up on my GTB2 xdrive yet - at least until I run the justock

original software for the justock also had weak breaks, you had to crank reverse force to 100%, but with the updates came better brakes

kinda confused about all the brake talk

I never use brakes, drag or push, in VTA

Almost never even get all the way out of the throttle except on tight 180's

cars are so slow just turning scrubs enough speed and I run front DCJ's
