Thats a lot of VTA. Are you saying that VTA is all that is run there? Can I run any class I want as long as its VTA? Are they going to have VTA there? Are you sure there is enough VTA?

I run the sakura Zero and its a great VTA Car and the XI is much better so it would be fitting to be great in VTA

that's the one I was looking at - the XI Sport

I currently use my HB TCX (and very well, I might add ) - but have the hankering to build a new chassis, but want something cheap and, I guess, different

I have both a Zero S and an XI Sport, but I use my Zero S in VTA. I have my XI Sport set up for 17.5 sedan racing. I see no reason why it wouldn't be a solid performer in VTA. It's got a narrower chassis, open motor mount (better gearing options), front spool and better rear gear diff than the Zero. I may eventually switch my XI Sport as my VTA racer if I ever decide to change to another car for 17.5 sedan. If you're on the fence about it, I say go for it. It's a solid car for the money.

cool.. for the XI sport - did you add any updates, or are you running it box stock?

it looks pretty nice out of the box, but i'm not too crazy about the bulkheads in plastic or the fiberglass shock towers

are the shock bodies plastic or aluminum? I know they're threaded, but can't tell and 3racing don't say on their site

Kevin- I run an RGT Hobby chassis with plastic bulkheads an FRP towers, so far no problems, if anything, it generates to much traction.

yeah, and you do seem to do pretty well with that setup

do you have a link or info on that chassis? I tried finding info when you posted it on the southern nats thread - but didn't find much..

Hey ya'll. I just built a Spec-r s1 to run VTA. I really don't have any experience with on-road stuff. Well, it's been @20 years since I ran RC10L's. I just had to put one together even though no one around here runs 'em. Anyways, I have lots of dumb ?'s but I'll save 'em for later. Just wanted to check in

Depending on local rules, you may not be allowed to run the full TC wing in VTA (No wings allowed in USVTA racing).

As far as Spec-R support, don't forget to check out the Spec-R thread(s) here in the On-road section of RCTech.net (Spec-R R1)

Now that the new Novak vented motors have been out for a while, what kind of temperature#s are everyone seeing versus the old style? Is it worth getting the new bells for the original motor?

How is the handling different between the HPI 68 Camaro and the Firebird?

I've been away from the track since march, before the new approvals
