Just watched the VTA A-main from the Halloween Classic. Myron's did a great job defending his line. His car wasn't the fastest, but it looked like he made the fewest mistakes.

The best part of the racing was watching the cars behind him. They did a great job racing close. This is a perfect example of how close you can actually race in VTA. Even if you have car that is turning faster laps, sometimes you have to work to pass other cars.

thanks...Im not used to being under power, so I had to keep it clean and stay in the groove...The race was fantastic and the racers were even better.

Ran my basic setup, but finally got a new motor in the Boss 25.5, and not sure it was up to par as more older one(one of the 1st 3 25.5's). But I did some faster laps in qualifiers with low 11's...but changed some time and rear tow, and it was the wrong move. Fastest I turned in the main was 11.4, yuck...

But the cool part was me and John swapping the TQ back and forward each round...lol...it looked like the old Larry Bird Michael Jordan commercial..top this!!

I really had a good time racing the VTA guys up there and was very happy to have won at the Classic on my 1st time out...

Special Thanks to John,Robert,Joe,Chuck,Sam,Dave,Mike,Michael,David, Dave,Zach,Juwan,Tony, and all the VTA racers

my setup is the same other than,

New Novak 25.5 w/ 20 deg time
Camber -0.5 front, -1 rear

I'm sure it has been asked, but does the rear spoiler (say on a '68 Camaro) make a noticeable difference in handling?

It made no difference on my '69 Camaro.

Depends on the size of the track. I race on an asphalt track that has a 200ft straightaway, yes, it makes a difference. Leisure Hours Raceway, Joliet, Il.

I am going to be running on a track that is small, maybe 50 x 50 if that. Anyone have a suggestion on an FDR to shoot for given those conditions?

Most of the guys there run 1/12 so I am not sure who to contact to get an idea where to start.

We have a smallish track here in Indy.

On the tight, technical layouts we might run a 4.0. On the more open fast layouts, most don't go any lower than 3.7.

Very comparable to my experience. Steepest I've run is 4.0. I've run as tall as 3.3 or so, but that was for really open layouts. I've seen been fluctuating in the 3.7-4.0 range for all tracks (with max timing).

thanks for the info. Will probably just start at 4.0 and go from there.

For tight technical tracks, what are you using for motor timing?

Good times for sure! I'll be at the Birds in January. Hopefully, you can make it and we can resume our RC version of the Larry vs Magic NBA finals.
