yeah, I am thinking the rears would work too. Heck, for theprice I could do 2 sets of the AE posts, not use the fronts, and still be cheaper than the xray rears.

As for the fronts, I could just use a long enough screw and shim them up.

I am thinking of ordering some to try.

Thats very true. If you are going to mail order it, check these first http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ....asp?p_id=4605 5 bucks front and rear. A lot of this car is a clone of my old T3 12, so I would bet these are too. Plus they are 6mm diameter like the xray, I think associated may be 5mm.

cool thanks! I am thinking those will work better and maybe keep the same rear post hole location.

I am going to order them. worse case scenario, I'll throw them back up for sale.

I think that's a pretty common issue when moving a used chassis from TC to VTA. The hood is just taller and post tend to come up short.

I'm looking at setting up a vta car and need some help.
What off set rim is being used?
I was told the the white rims are heavier than the black ones?
Thanks

IIRC, fronts are 0mm offset and rears are 6mm offset. The VTA wheels from HPI are only available in those offsets. Never heard any are lighter/heavier than others. Seriously doubt it could be enough of a difference to be measurable, though.

Thanks for the lead. I had seen this track in the track locator, I just wish it was less than 2.5 hours from where I live in SE MI. Hoping to garner some interest somewhere within at least a 45 min to and hour from my area. There is, so far one member who has mentioned that he and a few like minded VTA nuts, have a spot that they gather at somewhere around Southfield (MI). Going to see if we can discuss the where and when, indoors or out. Thanks again!

I have a few questions as I am looking to build a VTA car for a fun class.

Where it says 2c 7.4v lipos, I am assuming this means 2s?

That is really all the questions I have, I am currently looking for an older chassis, have the body rims and tires as well.

Correct, 2S.

hey, I have seen some pics of people having two-tone rims. Basically the "lip" is silver, inside is black.

For those doing this, what are you using to paint the rim and what are you starting with as a base, black rims or chrome? I got a set of mismatched rims, basically same pattern just different colors I wouldn't mind doing this to.

The next closest carpet track that runs VTA is Hobby Stop West in Toledo.

I used chrome rims, sand the spokes, mask the lip and paint black.

I stopped doing it for racing , go through fronts too fast for all the work

I have a car for sale - many spares that will come with the car (including a spare chassis) will be included...

For Sale: Xray T3 2011

There are two easy ways to get wheels with black centers and silver edges.

**1) Start with the Matt Chrome finish wheels and color the center in with a black permanent marker (Sharpie, etc). This option allows you to use different color markers (darker colors look better). I would recommend a marker with a medium and fine tip such as this (http://www.sharpie.com/enUS/Pages/twin-tip-marker.aspx).

2) Start with black wheels and paint the outer edge with silver paint or a paint pen/marker.

----------

**I prefer the black permanent marker option as it doesn't take very long to do 4 wheels. I can also use a cotton swab and marker remover if I make a mistake.
