McAllister needs to step up their game as far as window masks and decals.

I consider myself lucky to be able to race in a class with so many choices and still have competitive racing.

To all the r/c body manufacturers, keep bringing on the new bodies.

This ^^^.

And thanks to PF for what looks to be a fine addition to the bodies we can run in VTA!

Gary is a pretty smart small business man, and if/when a body has a big enough market to justify the expense, he does decals, but it raises the end user price, and the mfg. price as well.

I've looked at doing screen printed decals , window decals and cut window masks for his bodies as a little side deal, but you have to do such a HUGE lot I don't see it paying for itself. (I did have some cut masks and outside window decals done for his Mustang - and didn't care for them)

Gary leaves the detail out - to keep the pull easier, and the strength higher, and generally looks at a "Race Version" of a body, not a duplication of a street body.

No doubt the PF body will have more detail - and will cost more - and should have a bigger distribution, it's just sad they didn't build a body that isn't out there (like Gary did) C O U G A R

That's why McAllister has my support. Brought something new to the table! I've got 2 of Gary's latest already and can't wait to get them painted!

Of course, it's perfectly possible the PF Firebird product development may have started as early as the McAllister, but does it really matter? I think it's pretty clear that PF and McA cater to slightly different markets anyway.

Again, I'm just glad we have more options and if VTA continues to grow it stands to reason that more options will soon become available in the future.

Yeah, I could too. But all other things being equal, I'm going to buy the bodies with the best masks/decals.

I'll pay more for an HPI because I know its done for me.

McAllister puts window mask material in his body kits you have to cut them out with sicissors they work just fine as window mask. In the old days there were no window masks you had to be good with a exacto knife! some times in a bad wreck the windshield would pop out from cutting the tape to deep into the body.

Yeah...I still have a handful of PF bodies from those days - No MASK, and not even a blank piece of material to make a mask - (Used stuff like shelf paper, or wide masking tape)

When that changed - SO DID THE PRICE

For the bodies that didn't have mask - I made cardboard templates for my own.

It would be nice if Gary's were "Pre-Cut" , but he gives traced mask material, and they only take a couple minutes to cut out. (I usually cut them just INSIDE the printed line, because they seem to be a little big otherwise.

I have taken his masks and scanned them - and sent them to my local vinyl shop and had some cut, and it cost me between 3.00 - 6.00 per set (depending on how big they were.)

I like supporting Gary, I use his products when/where ever possible. Why? Gary is OLD SCHOOL, does things as a small cog in the wheel and has no desire for R/C WORLD Domination.

Wew...I thought Joe was going to stop with old....but he did put school on there...LOL

I know old school doesn't always fit with today's high tech world, and sometimes I feel like John Henry against the big machine. But I appreciate those that appreciate the way I still do things.

I certainly won't get into the marketing and politics behind the scenes of our industry. You racer's shouldn't have to concern yourself with that. I've raced RC cars for almost 35 years and still do. I really try to think like a racer when I create a body for the market. Being a Mom and Pop shop doesn't always allow us to have all the latest whistles and bells, but we think we have a good solid and competitive product for most racers.

Thanks for your support.....it's all made in the U.S.A.
