That's one of the reasons why USVTA is growing so fast! There is no question about which motor manufacturer makes the fastest VTA motor.
The USVTA rules leave no doubt that you can only run one of these 2 motors...

I just recently got back into racing (used to race 1/12th on-road back in the mid '80's) by joining the USVTA movement here in the Huntsville area. While I'm still a newbie at it, I've certainly enjoyed building two AE TC6.1's... a FT and a WC. I started with a TC4 and it was fine, but I like the fancy stuff even though it is WAY ahead of my skills , so I got a pair of 6.1's instead. After having read all 250+ pages I've really enjoyed this forum so far (except for the seemingly endless arguing over silly stuff), and hopefully I can start contributing a bit from time to time now!

Despite being a dedicated RC heli pilot, USVTA racing is the most fun I've had in a LONG time, and I'm proud to be a part of it here in the Huntsville, AL area!!!

Yes someone goofed. But what gets me is Trinity crying saying ROAR need spec either 20 AGW wire or 0.813 diameter wire saying they are not the same size. Every wire size chart I have ever seen says 20 AGW wire is 0.0320 inches or 0.813 (0.8128)mm Yep someone goofed really really big. I can see tolerances on wire size within a roll of wire but if every D 3.5 motor has the same over sized wire then it wasn't 20 AGW OR 0.0320 inch diameter OR 0.813 diameter wire they used. I sure am glad that RobK has specified the specific motors we can use in our class.

The most fun I had last night racing VTA was helping out other racers with their setups - which resulted in better handling cars on the track.

Wish I could, Myron, but my weekend is already booked. Hopefully I can get up that way soon though; would love to try an indoor track. Gotta get down to OneLug and try their track also...

Cheers!

Another great turnout for VTA in Mishawaka, In. (michiana raceway)

14 USVTA cars
7 outlaw VTA cars
3 USGT cars.

MRCR is having a "KING OF THE ROAD" trophy race saturday March 9TH.
USVTA
OUTLAW VTA
USGT..looks good for enough cars to be a class
17.5 rubber
17.5 1/12

There is a separate thread here and on hobbytalk for the race.

I've been to your store for an emergency parts purchase and looked at your track which looks fairly tight. What kind of FDR are most of you guys using? I'm currently at 3.94 on one car and 3.86 on the other with max motor timing. Is that too much for your track?

Cheers,

Hands down the EAM 70c 5000mAh packs, they are all I run. I also run the same packs in my GT21.5 car and they do well in it too.
