Kewl on the offer. I'll check Tower. I'm on the e-mail list at A Main now. I like the 70 SS because it's different. What bodies do folks usually run?

Sorry, I don't know anyone who tried running the Novak Club ESC in their VTA.

On a different note ...

How many people turned out for the VTA class at Snowbirds last year?

The '68 Camaro from HPI seems to be a popular choice, they last longer than any other for me. The one I have now I've literally knocked all the shoe-goo out of the front twice and its just now getting to where I need a new one.

I personally have seen 3 of them at the track and within 3 weeks the esc's were all dead

Does anybody know how the hand-out Novak Club ESC's performed at the 2012 IIC in Las Vegas? I heard that some of the IIC racers loved the Club ESC.

I was interested too so that I could build a second VTA car. However, a long time racer, and good & trusted friend at my LHS told me that out of 4 Club ESC's systems they'd sold, three went bad very quickly. He said the EDGE system was more dollars ($40), but a much better unit if you are going with the Novak brand.

Just another opinion, but it did come from a knowledgable guy.

I just dont know what to do with you guys when you talk about useful information instead angling for that 5001mah battery or brand X 25.5 motor.

According to the 2012 Snowbird Road Results, there were 14 entries in VTA ... 10 in the A-Main.

And 4 in the B-Main.

That's a surprise. Only 14 VTA's? For the "Superbowl" of On-Road Racing I was expecting more like 30 VTA's. We will have to see if more VTA drivers show up this year.

the main issue was back in 2009...it was a not so good showing of "racing"...but this year after 3 year absense, we put on a great show and USVTA is welcomed back to the Birds...thanks Mike....

I hope to see the numbers double this year...with the FL tracks running VTA, weshould see some more locals come to support the class

I was one of the four. And I think all four went bad. Novak did fess up to a problem that they say they've resolved.

When I sent mine in, I paid the $30 and upgraded to the edge. The Edge is programmable and it does have reverse. I know, I know, you don't use reverse. Nice to have for practice when nobody is marshaling for you.

Also, I do use the drag brake setting which the Club doesn't have.

FWIW, I think the Club ESC is identical to the Edge. In other words, the Club IS the Edge in factory settings mode.

I thought 14 was a pretty weak showing, but I guess I was expecting a VTA group like there was at the Southern Nationals. By the way, how many were there 2011 and 2012, VTA only?
