I thought that was great, but the lap times did not seem to be much different at all. As far as i can tell, there is no difference in speed with this controller. It will be added to the approved list.
A sensible and logical reason for approval. I love it!

You should make a clay impression of the nose of that Nikko and use it for a plug to make a vac formed nose to stick on that HPI shell then you would have something you could sell and you would open the door for a shell that might actually be legal. Ummm if it got approved.

The NOVAK Club Sport ESC is going to be added to the list soon also, right?
I have 2 on order for the VTA Nats and Summer racing....

Anybody notice a change to the compound in this last batch of tires?
The last couple of weeks, the rear gets loose after about 7 min and I'm finding carpet fuzz really stuck to the tires. This is new to me. I clean with motorspray, sauce with SXT the heat before and wipe down 1-2 minutes before I hit the track. Am I over heating the tires??

Yes.... it seems to my the tires are a softer compound. Almost like the HPI Pro Compound used for the X-Patterns.

Traction was much better than i was used to on hot, outdoor asphalt. I have very fine bits of rubber on the inside of my body.

I used two brand-new sets over 6 runs and the wear pattern is very even front to rear and left to right.

That's great news. Maybe HPI ran out of the older D compound rubber and used the surplus Pro compound rubber on the latest batch of VTA tires. I'm going to the shop and buying 5 sets right now!

I run 3500mah lipos. I don't know if they would last 20 minutes! The car uses about 1000 mah for a 6-minute qualifier so 20 minutes could pull the voltage too low. If I ever run in a race like this, I better upgrade my batteries.

Not an issue, 15 minute main tests saw an average voltage of 7.4v and 2400mah used. This was from a car driven by a driver that is extremely heavy handed with throttle control. Smoother drivers see around 7.8v and 1900-2200mah.
