Just for your info Bill we at PC do not run light weight. The cars are put on the scales and must be at 1550g or higher. We give new racers a race or two to get there equipment to spec as not to discourage them from continuing in this class.

My post was a little unclear. My chassis is XRay and that is why the Kinbrough spur gear won't fit. It is just a touch too thick. I am going to give it to my friend who I talked into trying the hobby. He got a good deal on a used TC6 and is collecting what he needs to race. An 88 tooth 64p spur gfewear came with the car, but I don't think it will work for the final drive ratios we need in VTA because of fitment/clearance issues with the chassis and/or motor mount. Am I right on this?

Maybe the 108 spur I was going to give him won't fit either (too large, too much space between the transmission layshaft and the motor shaft to fit in the chassis), because the pinions needed for the right fdr are too large?

I don't have access to his car today, otherwise I would just mount things up and check.

I have this collection of large pinions (54 through 58) I don't use right now and I would just as soon let him use them as keep his entry cost to the hobby lower, but if the won't work, it's not the end of the world.

Default driver figures

Where can I get a driver figure to use in my vta car? What to have one as a option on for fun. Was just think of just going to toy store and buying some type of action figure and using the head and maybe mount it some type away in the car make it a Bobble head Lol

I run a T3'10 and run a 96/45-47 iirc and it works just fine. Mine had a slight rub when I improperly installed the top deck/holders. Check there first as there shouldn't be any difference between the 104-100-96

Here is my T3 2012 setup that qualified 5th at the last weekend's Cleveland indoor champs:

This is pretty much my stock set-up. Traction was pretty good in Cleveland but not super high.

Sorry for things being in no particular order.

Final Drive = 3.42
Rear gear dif, 1000 cst
Front Spool
med hing pin holders front and rear
2 MM spacers on front hinge pints
4 deg caster
arm spacing full long in rear, 1 mm from full long in front,
+ 0.75mm hexes on the front, standard in rear
standard 52 mm shafts on the front (no ecs)
5mm ride height, droop = 2mm over ride height front and rear
1mm ackerman shim
1mm bump steer shim
medium location for inner links front and rear (as bite comes up move to shortest location as preferred)
4mm shims on outer ballstud in rear, inner hole on rear hub.
1mm shim on outer ballstud in front
Rear Shock: 275 or 350 cst oil w/ 2.4 springs, 25% rebound, top position layed all the way down
Front Shock: 350 or 400 cst oil w/ 2.8 or 2.6 springs depends on feel, 25% rebound, top position middle hole or 1 lower.
1 deg camber in front
1.5 deg camber in rear
1 deg toe out in front
3 deg rear toe

In my possibly uninformed opinion, the protoform body works best.

I was playing around with the shock oil all weekend, pick your flavor. I had the suspension pretty soft. The car is pretty darn fast

And before anyone comments on running a T3 2012 in vta, its what I had. Total costs to convert were tires, body, and a 25.5 stator.

Another racer was nice enough to take a picture of my car (Thanks!):

I used a PEZ dispenser head a few years ago.

Hello,

I wanted to check on a concern I have regarding cooling fans and motor heatsinks...

Is it legal or non-legal in VTA to run motor fan or heatsink with built in fan?

Thanks

I actually talked to Rob about this the other day. He can correct me, but you should be fine.
