This Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without a picture of a "Turkey Car" ...

I am thankful for heavy cars that collide calmly.

Off the current subject I have a servo question What would be a good digital servo for VTA in a T4? The local hobby store carries alot of Savox what would be good?

If you run Spektrum radios or some of the hong kong brands (FlySky etc) you will probably need a capacitor or 2 if you run the Savox. They are very power hungry and can cause brownouts on various systems.

Personally, if I had just dropped the money on a new Xray T4, I'd get a higher quality servo, KO, Futaba, etc.

The 2 I recommend without going too crazy, but good solid low profile servos...

If you want to go a little cheaper (Savox price range) I'd do this one...

The savox servos are power hungry but running a capacitor will take care of any glitching problems. I have run them in my touring cars for a few years with no problems.

The spektrum receiver issue is only with DSM1 receivers. The newer DSM2 receivers (3100 & 3520) don't have the brown out issue with Savox servos. I run a 3100/1258 combo & no cap with no brown out issues in my b4.1. If you have any other model receiver (or CC ESC) you will need a cap. Keep in mind you must have a dx3r or dx3r pro to use the DSM2 receivers. I also ASSUME if you get a new dx4s (DSMR) system you won't have brown out issues, but those aren't out yet, so no one has tested those.

I have only had problems with the 3100 receivers. The 3520 and 3500 and 300s have not shown any glitching issues. I would suggest running a cap anyway.

Where are you putting this cap, and what size cap? We both run Savox servos and different spektrum RX's. SR3000 and SR3001. We are already running the Novak Caps on the ESC's....should we put a 2nd one in somewhere?

I run one plugged into the batt. port of my reciever. I do use the spek dx3r pro with the sr3000 and it did brown out under load. It has since stopped after adding the cap.
