Rob also sending you a PM
We ran 1550g, any ESC on the sportsman list and any 25.5 at the Carpet Nats. Most of the racers were USVTA legal including Tony Phalen who won the event.

Thats the thing. If you build a fully legal car, you are still good for ROAR events.

Rescue aren't you guys some considerable distance from anyone else that might have a racetrack.

yes we are, the next closest track is in saskatoon (2hrs, not that bad though) and then it would be calgary, alberta or winnipeg, manitoba (6-8 hrs)

closest state would be north dakota which is 4 hrs - 5 hrs driving..

also we have to setup and tear down the track each time because we rent a hall and do not have a perm track location yet. Most guys i know usually like to go to the snowbird race in florida.

The reason I asked was that the more remote you are, the more isolated you are from other tracks, the less inpsired you might be to run straight USVTA rules. I just hope you guys are having fun. Make sure the cars look cool.

If you see a guy at the Snowbirds wearing a Snoopy t-shirt say hello to him.

Here is whats on my T2'07. This has seemed to work for me, as I adjust shock position, roll center, etc to the track conditions

White spring front, yellow rear.
400 oil w/ 3 hole pistons F&R
1000 in gear diff
1.4 front bar
1.2 rear bar

Hello guys, of the 3 listed approved Novak motors is there 1 that is recomended more than the other? I am looking at the club motor/esc combo to get me started. Will this do fine or would spending more up front be cheaper in the long run. The chassis will be something from Xray, either the T3 or T4 (I race a XB9 off road and like my Xray's) There is talk that we may get a indoor carpet track in my town so im trying to do my homework now. I want to build the car to class rules. Thanks for the help.

I only know of 2 (ballistic and ss) unless you are counting refurbished vs new SS. Ballistic is built more modular and you can replace all of the pieces in it. Timing is also easier to adjust. SS you can adjust timing (no markings to help) and certain bits are not replacable. I recommend the ballistic just from ease of timing adjustments.

Well how did all you Guys do this weekend ?

I did terrible I got beat by my own car 1st
And then by another that wasn't even a legal USVTA car

So I lend my backup car to a good friend and racer
Who is a great driver and he puts me a lap down
With it lmao
sooo now I know that car is GOOD maybe it should be the primary car lol

Then I find out the guy behind me is running a tekin RS pro ESC
And a 25.5 with no ring on it and to be honest it got in my head
The entire race I was so thinking that this sucks
I spend all this time and effort to be legal And this guy is like way faster now
Then in qualifying that I couldn't even focus on my own car ?.

Guess I will have to sit in on tha VTA tech at the next race
Yep this is your warning if your watching boys
USVTA means approved equipment only I WILL BE WATCHING

Honestly the Tekin RS in blinky mode had not proven to be faster than any other esc at our track. You really have nothing to worry about.

I've honestly seen differently at our track. Guy had a car that was QUICK one weekend compared to everyone else.... we looked at gearing, timing, etc....... next week he has a gtb2 and was back to the same as everyone else. Quite curious

Just to interject in the spirit of VTA...learn to drive! Myron could have won that race with an old boot, a rusty pair of scissors, and a 2 week old banana powering his TC3.

Joking of course.
