I am getting the gf a gt-350 body and I am going with a dodge challanger for myself....gonna do a mad max kinda them...easy to paint with flat black.....
Dont think F1 as a class has gone the way of the dodo...standard is 21.5T and blinky with rubber tire nationwide, check on here with all the F1 threads...

I know it is a ways out, but my local track is having a pretty big event January 5th and 6th. It's the Sweep Challenge at Middle River Hobbies. We've brought VTA back recently, and are now following USVTA rules with the exception of the driver figure (just couldn't get people to go with it). However, we have had a steady increase in turnout and have had a constant 6-10 cars on the weekends and even our Thursday night races. The race had over 100 entries last year with this year looking to break that mark. The race also brings talent from as far north as Connecticut and down to Virginia Beach, covering most of the areas from the Mid Atlantic and Northeast. Just wanted to make everyone aware of the race coming up because we'd love to see more talent come in, and for VTA to grow and bring in some more "outside" talent. Classes will include: 17.5 Blinky TC, 17.5 Blinky 1/12, 13.5 Blinky 1/12 VTA, F1, Mini Cooper and 4wd Mini. These classes may change due to turnout or interest but they are the proposed classes.

Just wanted to put it out there in case some guys were interested in making the trip in for VTA along with anything else, and since its a 2 day event, notice a couple months ahead is always good. I'll see what I can do about getting the drivers figures if its an issue that would keep people away. Keep an eye out in the racing forum for more details and I'll post more info as soon as it's officially announced with a thread opening.

Has the track arranged any kind of lodging discounts for the race participants?

It's a great time either way, and the more the merrier. I'm only a novice myself, but I really enjoy the fun and racing with people. Come on up if you can!

That was done last year, and per the conversation I had earlier today with the race officials, it is being worked on again. There was a practice session Friday before the race days as well until about 10PM if I remember correctly. I will provide more information on that as it becomes available. I would put my money on it though.

Saw it in person today... his crappy cell phone photo does that body zero justice. I'll have to try and sort out something a little more appropriate for such an amazing piece of not so vintage art.

my Novak Edge right out the box is bad. Throttle lights show, motor not doing anything. Put in another ESC "LRP" and no issue.

Has it ever been determined that the SPX ZERO is now approved? I have one, would love to use it. I love my LRP.

While this is a nice street custom paint job, it is unfortunately not really a USVTA race body. While different clubs/tracks will allow a paint scheme like this, others may frown upon it or even not allow it to race in the VTA class.

Here is an excerpt of the USVTA official rules concerning paint schemes:
