So maybe we can look forward to more bodies in the future as well. I know Id love to run a Pontiac....my first car was a 69 Firebird so would bring back lots of memories for me.
All right! That's good to hear coming from JConcepts!

Flying Monkey, have you received any further responses from JConcepts concerning new VTA bodies?

No Im sure it wouldnt be for awhile if they do follow through. Even if it is on the list as they say, Im sure its not close to the top. Then if there is licensing needed, time for that, then actual design, manufacturing and then distribution.

Well at least it's "on the list". Who knows? Maybe we will see other manufacturers come out with new VTA bodies soon.

So besides the Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang, Shelby Mustang GT350, Plymouth Hemi Cuda, Dodge Challenger and AMC Javelin, how many other make/model cars are there that ran in the Vintage Trans Am series?

Great question! The best way to find out is go to www.trans-amseries.com and take a look at the roster.

Beyond the 6 makes/models that you mentioned, here are 5 more that have not been reproduced in a 1/10 scale r/c body yet ...
  1. Ford Falcon
  2. Dodge Dart
  3. Mercury Cougar
  4. Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
  5. Chevy Nova II (Picture has been fixed - it's no longer the '67 Camaro)

Sorry but that's correct, #5 is a '67 Camaro not a Nova II. The Nova II was more of a boxier body style similar somewhat to the squareness of the Dart. Back in the late '70's I towed up to Brunswick GA (dirt) to race a couple times but the last time there the safety crews had to cut Sam MCQuagg out of his Nova II after hitting driver side against the only wall on the property on the front stretch. From experience, the pine tree stumps hidden in the brush over turns one and two weren't a lot of fun either!

If anyone was at PRI this year, the '63 Falcons in these pics were on display to the back of the exhibit hall to the right. http://www.realracinusa.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=17209

You guys are right. When I clicked on "Chevrolet Chevy II Nova" in the HTA Roster it took me to Linda and Mark Mountanos car page. They actually own 2 historic VTA cars:
  1. 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova #95 driven by Dan Spiegel
  2. 1967 Chevrolet Camaro #99 driven by Paul Van Valkenburg

#5 is a Nova. Look at the bumpers, Camaro bumpers are a lot smaller, height wise. Plus, the headlight/taillight trim is visible on the Nova from the side view, not on the Camaro. I owned a '68 Camaro, there is nothing in common between it and the Nova, style wise.

Out of the 5 cars listed above, I believe that the Pontiac Firebird is the best looking car out of the bunch. The rest of them just look boring.

Don't forget the "grey ghost", a '64 tempest that ran in 71.

I am not sure the nose is long enough on the Nova to get a foam bumper under there. Then again they all have to be reengineered a bit to work on a TC chassis.

But I would be for trying any or all of those.

Funny how the '64 Pontiac Tempest is not mentioned anywhere in the Historic Trans Am roster, but it did race in the 1971 season. Here's an article about the "Grey Ghost".
