If in fact Novak is offering a 25.5 red wire stator, then someone at Novak has screwed up; we had this minor fiasco when they started offering epoxy dipped 25.5 stators and they were quickly taken off the market when it was brought to their attention.

Novak has generally played nice with the VTA crowd; they need to understand that red wire 25.5 stators, if indeed they are being made, are not really welcome, especially if they are not easily techable (i.e. to verify someone is not running a red wire stator).

Well there is definitely a issue with Novak. If you order a ballistic 25.5 motor or part number S6625 stator it will come with a red wire

If you get a older batch motor it will have gold wires

Batman, do you know anything about why the stators that come now are red wire?

I didn't mean to cause a stink, I was just curious, seeing as how they had the options for a different stator/stronger rotor on the site.

actually the part number for the red wire has a different part #
S6625RE

the regular VTA legal one is:
S6625

Also I forgot to mention cooling endbell parts are also not legal

What is the big difference between the red and gold wire? This is not a sarcastic question. I looked on the site and couldnt find anywhere it told the real difference.

It makes sense that it would be illegal, now that I think about it. In the name of fair/ cost-effective racing. I'd hate to spend $140.00 (The price for a "built" 25.5) on a motor just to keep up with the competition.

I personally don't think there is a performance difference. I have gold stators and red wires stators and my lap times are the same. I thinks it's all hype.

I thought I heard, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that the red-wire stators helped handle heat better. As in you could throw more gear at the motor.

I heard the same, but really haven't seen a difference. Has anyone else?

Technically, Novak says the REd Wire stators uses a slightly larger gauge of wire, which means less resistance; less resistance means more power.

Perhaps they made a special exception for the 25.5 and it uses red wire of the same identical diameter as the old stuff, which would mean there is no functional difference.

If Novak could chime in (or if someone could measure the phase to phase resistance of a non-red 25.5 stator vs. a red 25.5 stator) we would know.
