It is a 3 step charging process
1--Boost aka fast charging
2--Pulse charging
3--Step Charging

Elangears Mini AC/DC Charger
Here is the AC Elangears mini. 7amps charging capability. It has a USB port up to 4amps. In Elangears fashion it still has the ability to run additional power. 7amp max(Only when not charging). It also has the same Smart Charge feature as the X2. Of course just like all the rest it can balance. It will also charge at 12amps if you use it DC. They are in stock and ready to go. They are $119.99 plus shipping. It truly is an amazing charger.

Question about the mini, where it says the DC output is only when not charging...the RX2 output works even when charging, is this saying the DC output won't work at all when charging, or just that it shares power, eg when charging there is less than 7A available but it does work?

Correct the X2 is also a 45 amp power supply built inside so that it can handle a full load.

The X1 for $199.99 is a 25 amp power supply so it can handle 10 amps while charging.

The Mini is maxed out at 12 amps. To protect the power supply they have cut off the the output while charging. Especially with the 4 amp usb port.

What is the DC output capable of supplying on the ELANR X2?
Does what you've said above mean that the total for the internal PSU is 45A?

I have been asked a few times if the external connectors (which I use for tyre warmers) would power a tyre sander or tyre truer, but I thought it was limited to 10A, or is it more if the chargers are not running flat out?

Thanks
Skiddins

I have been running my X2 using the following:
  • charging both channels maxed out (10 and 15 amps)
  • MM Tire warmers at warm up and also maintaining at 60'C
  • MM tire sander start up and also running
  • MM LED pit light
  • USB charging mobile phone
  • Twin cooling fans

Using this loadout, it has not missed a beat and runs perfectly.

The internal PSU is rated at 45amps.

HTH.

I've been running this setup since I got the X1 charger. I run all four ports off the X2. I will be adding the mini. If anyone wants to test the chargers I have them ready to go for anyone to use. I've never gone over 45 amps total. But I've run 35 not using the X2 chargers just using it as a power supply. It was charging some USB heli batteries.

Thanks guys.
So it's the total being drawn that actually matters?

I was worried about going over 10A on the extra outputs (can't remember where I got 10A from) so I haven't pushed it.
This means I can use my tyre sander as well as charging.

Here's where I got the '10A' for the extra output.

That doesn't add up to 45A total though

Just a heads up for those that use them.

You might want to check your charge leads

Had mine for a month now. One of my charge leads came out of the angled plug at a recent UK LMP12 national. Poor solder joint. Checked the other lead I was using and it was OK.

Yesterday I made up some custom leads in red & black and the second pair of Elangear leads were very poorly soldered. Sorry no pictures though.

Doesn't stop it being a damned fine charger.

LMP12 1s Charge Mode.

New to this charger and been using Smart Charge Mode for 1s

Is this the best mode for performance for the 1s batteries?

Anyone tried the other modes and what are your findings?

Discharging 2s Batteries

Both channels set to 7 amps but never gets there

2s batteries with balance leads attached

Anyone know why?

Is 7a max when using both ports, ie 3.5a on each and when discharging one battery it's 7a?

Because the most it can discharge is 30W (I think that's 'per channel').
If you discharge a 1s lipo it will go up to 7A
The most I ever see is 4.1A on a 2s lipo and you have to remnember that it is also making sure it does the cells equally which is why it sometimes drops the discharge rate for a period.

Cheer's

Did a single 1s last night and it did 7a. Will try two one day and see what the charger does
