How many blowouts will we see...?
My car is now dialed in at Bumps in the hobby shop area.

Sounds good man....Tomorrow i should get my kit. I'll have it ready for opening day at horsham or 360. Still have some more nitro to burn this season.

I'm with ya man. I ran a nitro 8th event last week... TQed and Won both Buggy and Truggy. There's quite a bit of that left yet this year. I'm going to MRH to have fun and not really have much for expectations. Just want to get a good solid driving experience and get back into the swing of it all. I won't really have time to do real testing and racing until I hit Horsham.

And Brian... I want a picture of the car right next to an order of Cheese Steak Fries. That will prove it's dialed at the shops.

Soon as we have the kitchen going I will get that picture. Might be awhile but I will get that picture down the road for you.

Same here...Im really happy with the quality and fit.
One thing i really like is the front outdrives have 4 slots in them which lets you get double the life out of them. Once the 2 you are using get worn out use the next 2!

More to come...

I've got a couple questions for you guys...

In step 7 it shows how to build the steering assembly. Step 9 shows the steering assembly with a crossbar between the steering assembly poles. Am I missing a piece or is this a mistake in the manual?

What are you guys using for grease on the "arm pin pivot balls"? (step 18)

I'm sure I'll come up with some more.

I would say it shouldn't be in the drawing. If you look on the side where the parts all called out they don't show it.

As for the grease, I'm gonna try what they included in the kit.

I'm pretty sure thats a miss print in the manual as I don't have one either.

For lube I used a dab of Associated red label silicon grease. But really there is no right answer here. What ever you have that you like will do. IMO

Honestly I didn't notice any miss prints but only because I rarely build anything by the manual anymore

Yes always use grease on the pivot balls for the hinge pins, light amount is good.
I usually place a dab inside the pivot block. Black grease is best.
This will allow the pin to move freely.
Make sure to clean out old grease when doing maintenance

I am assuming the crossbrace for the steering may be an option at some point.
Most of the dual cranks cars I have had in the past have this option part.
I measured the HB and does not fit.

Take your time building it and it will be awesome.

Build note #4
Make sure to smooth small gear diff parts prior to assembly. Aka all gear diff parts off tree.

Funny dude.
And yes I still follow the "book of build".

The Wildfire manual is pretty good.
The pages have the actual size of the required parts for building properly.
Good job VBC
