I was stuck like this too before with another car but a couple of ways to get around this is either drill/reamer your spur - either 2 opposing holes or 4 for balance or, if you dont change gearing often and have a ratio you know works for the track, take the top deck off, get the mesh right, tighten the screw that's not blocked by the spur, take the spur/layshaft off to tighten the other one and re-assemble. absolute pain but at least it wont stop you racing

Thanks. I was getting pissed and never thought about doing it that. Never had this problem when I ran touring cars last. Guess you never stop learning.

Good day!

I don't have the car but I have been following this thread and looking at the pictures. If they made the motor mount bolt pattern on the bulkhead vertical instead of horizontal wouldn't that make it a bit easyer to get at the motor fasteners?

I would still need a spur gear that has the bigger size holes in it and if not then with those giant size pinions needed for at least 17.5 blinky they would be in the way more than likely.

I clamp type mount that could be tigtened from the toplate and off the bottom of the chassis would be sweet. I honestly thing Schumacher already has something similiar one of their MI4 cars.

I think for the most part only is 17.5 the problem. They right spur gears are out some I bet as soon as some more of the CRC guys run this car they might post up some better spurs that will work easier for the car. Who knows they might already have something in the works.

Not sure if this has been asked yet but what is different about the 1K parts that are listed at CRC other than the much higher price?

Thanks for the info.

Good thing is I'm going to finish my car today and the place I'm going to try it out has the gears in stock that I need. Called down and they said they have plenty in stock. Now to finish installing the body mounts, bumper and electronics. A quick one color wonder paint job and hit the gauges for car setup and its about ready.

Car is completely done. Its had all the electronics in it and been on the setup board. Speedo is all setup and in blinky mode. New 1 color wonder body is painted and mounted. Just need the spur gear when I get to the track and that will take 5 minutes and done.

Now that I have it finished I have a good amount of left over screws and threaded long set screws for the a arms and for the ball studs. Won't have to order any of the anytime soon.
