The steering looks like it came right off of the first generation Team Magic G4. Just a note- the design was so bad that the steering was redesigned in that car twice during it's production run.

I had the first G4, one reason it is redesign is because dirt will reduce the smoothness of the steering and require super precision in the making of the parts which is not there back in the day. I am not sure today's technology is catching up or not. not to mention the design never get as smooth as other even when everything was done right at the builder's side.

The battery fits in like any other TC with tape, obviously reccomended to install (if not already) bumps on the lipo to make use of the square cutouts to secure the lipo from movement.

Though i'm more concerned on the chassis shape and whether contact on a bump from one of the chassis shapes will cause the car to become suddenly unsettled.

On their website the mention the XRay, Schumacher, Tamiya parts thing as well.

Does anybody have any idea which parts are used from which manufacturer?

Exactly! Its not a new idea. Its been done before on the original G4 nitro TC. On that car it failed miserably.

However it looks like this new design uses dual slides to prevent pivoting on the rack follower. Hopefully they'll put in just enough tolerance on it to overcome small debris without adding any significant slop.

This was the same problem with the origininal Serpent 411. Not everyone has lipos with the bumps on the bottom and battery tape is not enough to keep a smooth bottomed lipo from sliding out sideways. Eventually the Serpent came equiped with the battery hooks that we're all familiar from other designs. I would hope that they get it right from the get go instead of making people find other "hooks" or waiting for it as an upgrade later on.
