Does anybody remember the Associated 1/12 independent front
I was rummaging around in my old stuff a couple of days ago and found a complete Associated 12i with the independent monoshock front suspension. I decided to get it up and running with some modern electronics. Wow what a lot of fun! Too much fun in fact. I smashed it into a wall and ripped out the lower left arm. Now I remember that was the reason we didn't keep using that setup way back then. I wonder if anyone has any arms left over in their old junk pile?

Funny how the mono shock front end came out before rear suspension really took off in 1/12th.

Thats what I thought, but I could be wrong, may have been the weight deal.
Any idea why they came out with that front end? I think I know, but I'd love to hear others theories on it.

The http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...ic-1-12th.html section should have a few pics of that car

Nope, proper independent front ends are perfectly legal in 1/12th, just look at the Yokomo R12. It was replaced because a sliding kingpin gave you the same performance with less weight and much more durability, and a sliding kingpin doesn't get lots of play in it very quickly.
