I have seen, the reedy quad, and the chrome one; at this years, and last years reedy race of champs. I have seen the Tamiya type S, Type t, type rs, and type rt; at the past two TCS nationals. I have heard of the reedy 19 quad at the ROAR nationals in OR. I heard it was the epic quad for stock at the snowbirds race in florida.

Reedy Race in 2004 was the Reedy Quad, Reedy Race 2003 was the old chrome can 19 turn spec motor (aka: the glitch motor) KO Grand prix 19 turn was a Yokomo motor brought over for that race. Silver can w/ standup brushes, locked 24 degree timing.

Steve, at the birds, didn't they have the motors that ended up being the UltraBird as a handout in 19 turn? I ended up with Rob Loves handout 19 turn (chrome can, purple endbell, adjustable timing and standup brushes.) That thing was a friggin screamer!

Hand out motors I don't really like that much. The main reason being it's kind of a craps shoot. I've gone to races with handouts where they let you buy a second or third motor and get one that's actually pretty good and one that's a slug. At the last Reedy Race I got two motors that were very far appart in performance.

salvadori here in Florida we have a state series for like the last 4 years we have run spec tires the take off cs27.
What we found was it made it a closer playing field. But we also only allowed two complete sets for the weekend ( 3 qualifiers and a main.).

As for motor its was more a hassle for the club to do handouts, and racers complained about sluggs. So we open up to run what you brung stock 27t and 19t motors every one is happy and we brought back racers because tire situation got cheaper and better pluss better motor selection.
