Here are the top kits in my opinion, I will not rank them since only these kits pass in "my" premium category. So here they are, in random order
2 cars I have never seen in person but I would rank them at the top based on the internet feedback and pictures are Awesomatix
and Corally HMX
, plus they are made in Europe (mostly I believe, maybe not 100% like Xray) which for me is a premium sign of quality. From pictures you can see these cars are a quality product and you surely cannot go wrong with them. I also read that the Kyosho TF6 is great, but it's a pretty exotic rare car with limited parts supply.
Cars I can reccomend from experience are Robitronic Avid V2
and the Xray T3 2012
. My good friend races a Robitronic with great results (he was the national champion a few years ago with V1) and no problems, I can guarantee this car is great. It's sad it kind of stopped in development and it never really caught on with the mases, hopefully more news will come from Robitronic. The second one is Xray T3 2012 which I own. I haven't actually driven it yet, but based on my experiences with Xray (which models I race in every class I compete in) it can't be dissapointing
I also have experiences from my friends at the track with Associated TC6 and Yokomo BD5. Yokomo I believe should be a good car based on its price, but a local driver is always working on it with sudden repairs and such. TC6 is the most popular car in here but they seem to break more often than more expensive cars, hence the difference in price.
