help with vta ride

I am looking to upgrade my vta car I run xxx-s g+, but the xrays and tc5 are getting harder and harder to beat. over the years I have piled may parts for the jrxs cars tons of carriers and 4 or 5 full sets of graphite arms,etc from buying xxx-s lots of parts. nobody at the track has a jrxs. there is so few cars, that any thing can race. one guy has a xray 11, but can't drive it.
so my ? is a tc6 or 6.1 better than a type r, I don't what to get in to xray because i dont want to copy every one else . and government cars scare me:ha:

The tc6 and 6.1 would be a step up from what your using but the aluminum ae use's is very soft and the bulkheads bend easily (I'm sure someone that has one will say different but I see them bend weekly). If you don't hit very much stuff I would get the 6.1 ,if you do hit stuff go with something else. Just my oppinion

Feel free to send me unwanted xxx-s parts, I seem to have no problem keeping up in vta or gt based classes :tire::cool::tire:

The only difference between a TC6 and a TC6.1 is just the new suspension components, the solid alum. spool and new gear diff. Plenty of used TC6s out there that can be had cheap. In time, for a few bucks here and there you can upgrade the TC6 to a TC6.1

However, I also want to point out the used XRays such as the T2-009 can also be had cheap. That car with the Exotek chassis upgrade is still very competitive. I've seen a few of those in the FS forum anywhere between $200 and $250.

Also another option that is different from everyone is the Top Photon.

A lot of guys are running all types of cars.
Best cars are Tamiya 417, Yocomo BD5, Xray T3'12, and Team magic E4 RSII
by far Tc6's can keep up easily but break.
for VTA i would concider the Tamiya 416, or the Xray T3 10. :D

Been racing a TC4 for several years in VTA. I have made the A-main at the USVTA Nats the last 2 years with the car.

Just about any car can be competitive in VTA. Some of the newer cars may be easier to fine tune, but driving consistent laps at big VTA races is more important than having the "fastest" car.

thanks for all the reply's. I will just keep looking and continue to enjoy what I got. Its all fun anyway. my lap time are good, but you all know you want the little edge.
thanks for the info on 6 to 6.1 now that i think about it the guys with tc5 do break more often than you would think.

Hoping this will help you a bit. I've been a long time believer in the XXXS and it's served me well in VTA. Still very competitive and parts aren't to difficult to get.
