Cold Heat Soldering Gun
Anybody try this thing?
https://www.asseenontvnetwork.com/vc...ldheat/115808/ It can reach 50W but says that it reaches it using an electrical current on the tip. Wouldn't this kill your cells? |
I think this was brought up in another forum a few months ago .. From what was posted it doesnt work very well for our application. Just look at the so called r/c car there soldering the wires on   .. this one might even be diffrent than the one talked about awhile back , but it sounds the same .... I dont think it will have any effect on the cells we use today , but then again I havent tried it ... if you do Let us all know how it works out.. :D :tire:

Got one as a gift.
may work on very..VERY small diameter wire/solder,,,,but not good....well......wont work....for us RC'ers.... a waste of money.....wish they had given me $2 instead of this soldering device:D waste of $$$ |
do not get one of these irons....they dont work good ....I was watching somone use one and it took them like an hour for it to melt solder...its not used for regular solder we use to build batteries and stuff..they are for reallly little things..

it works on the smae principals as an arc welder...but instead of 110 volts..it is on like 2 or 3 volts from the batteries.....

The best thing about the "Cold Heat" soldering tool is the DUMBASS commercial!!!
Quote: "It works because it is powered by COLD HEAT!!!" W-in the living F is "Cold Heat?!?!?" Ever notice how most of those TV commercials are made like we are all a bunch of idiots?!? When I think about it, it actually pisses me off.... ;) |

Just 4 easy payments of 19.95 LOL:lol: |

I played with one at the track last week. not impressed. I used a scrap piece of Deans 12ga wire, and got it to heat up maybe a fourth of the wire enough to take solder. I think if you were soldering maybe 22ga wire or smaller it would be a great tool:D

You know, I heard it worked great!.... As a paper weight.:D
