It is a fine piece of equipment, but no you can't use more than 1 transponder for each unit.

I suggest you try the 'search' function on the top of the site, because many of the 'new' threads you've created have been discussed in the past.

There is a thread on the Team Orion Lap counting system. It has very nice pictures of how the LED is mounted. Unfortunately I'm far too lazy to look it up for you. My Team Orion Lap Counting System is not upgradeable, at least not as DIY.

If my search capability are not that bad ...

There is no thread in this board with pictures of the Led mount !

There are only 2 threads for this LCS (excluding the 5-6 realted to selling the LCS).

I did find a nice link about LCS: http://www.rcracing.com/Page.cfm?InfoID=1493

Would be nice to keep this thread going for share experiences.

Mainly mounting the led is not the most easy thing ... on my case:

-------------------
On my unique test on an outdoor track, I did notice that 3 times over 20 pass, the lap was not counted ! (and it was not a problem due to the minimum lap time).

I have a Nitro body on my 1/10 electro car, and I use the pipe hole for have the led mounted inside the car .. the led look like has a good visibility of the outside.

I did notice that mainly if I was more close to the sensor, and high speed this was more lickely to miss the lap. I did put the receiver almost at the end of the main straight
----------------------------

PS: Going to make more exposed my led ... I just don"t like that I will have to take care to don't brake the cable every time I remove the body of my car ...

If you dont like the lexan idea to mount the sensor do what i did.
Get a piece of 1/4" x 3" peice of velcro anf put it on the wire leading up to the sensor. Then take a same size piece and put it going up the winshield pillar of the body, the velco holds the sensor near your side window.
Then I drill a hole in the RF of the body at the bottom of the winshield to mount the transponder. Works out great. I did have a problem running outside in the sunlight so what I did was cut a hole in the body for the sensor to mount in. But if you roll the car that could result in damage to the sensor.

Default Orion LCS new Black version

I just to my LCS today...

I noticed that when I turn the unit upside down something seems to be some movement inside the unit. If rotate the unit from the display side to the bottom side, multiply times there seems to be some type of movement inside the unit like a soft rattle. Also on the back of the LCS unit there is a hole where the unit receives the singal, it is about 6mm to 8mm deep and not flush with the unit.

I would like to know if everything is okay with the unit I have, and are other Orion LCS doing the same thing when the unit is rotated front to back.

Nick,
thanks I figured that out tonight, I was worried that I got a unit that wasnt put together right. I just placed a piece of foam behind the battery. No more rattling.
