Need Help Choosing My First Car.
Hey there guys as the title reads I need help choosing my first RC on road car. I'm buying second hand due to limited funds so I needed the wisdom of the forum.
The First car is a: HotBodies Cyclone TC 1/10 Car Kit
The Second car is: A Xray 1/10 But the 2011 Model.
The Xray will cost me most likely $100 more but I need everybody's opinion.

The best choice-due to limited $$- is a combination of a good performance car and spares availability.

I'd definately check out spare parts avaibility. It'll also be nice, to choose a car, which are commonly used at your track - this was you can get advises on setups.
I dont know much about the Cyclone, but a race buddy of mine has the 2009 edition, and he's very satisfied.

The cost difference is quite big, but personally I would go for the xray.
I looked at getting a t2 007 US edition, with a good spares package to it at one point. Nicely built, very durable parts. They hold up well - very well.
But decided against it as I still have a tamiya ta05 with plenty of milage on it once I have replaced some parts in the shocks.
As for the Cyclone, I don't know much about them tbh, they seem to do ok though in the right hands.

I am in the same boat looking to get a decent sedan on a tight budget...I think the Xrays seem to be the favorite of many and well built, the only thing that keeping me from getting an Xray is cost of parts... for me no one stocks them locally and they start off pricey then to add shipping...ouch they hurt
I am nervous to buy a used Xray offline without seeing it.....then needing to buy even a few parts to get it completed and running could easily add $50-$75to the price.... it seems like every car I got offline always needed a few items...servo mounts, draglink, battery strap, maybe a diff rebuild, nothing majoe just little stuff, unfortunately on an Xray that could be more $ than expected.
My conclusion is Xray is a fantastic product if you dont have a tight budget...hopefully someday I can afford one.
