I personally wouldn't want to solder my batteries at 800 degrees. I wonder how well this actually works though, or is another infomercial-quality product?

I solder batts as hot as I can, so you just touch them quick, get the job done and get the heat off...

This thing is awesome for a small gauge wire. It is more like an arc welder than an iron. Not good at all for the hobby we are in , but for small wires it is way better than an iron.

the iron doesnt work well for thick guage wires.. notice on the comercial every wire is thin like string...

it says good for rc.. but they show a radio shack toy...

If you want a portable Iron you should try the Hakko FX-901 cordless..

I bought one...lol... Now, I use it to weight down my trash can...lol.... It wasn't even good for shortening servo wires....

friend of mine got one, i used it for servo wires, i thought it worked just fine. don't think i would try to solder batteries with it, and i too solder my batteries at 800 degrees

I got one for Christmas and tried it out and it does not work very well at all......Maybe for small wires but nothing big at all!!
