storing nicads

i know to store them discharged, but how long is too long to leave a charge on them before you run them? ya'know if race day gets rained out, and it'll be two days till you can run them out with your buddies or something. what do you think? 24 hrs, 48? should i hit the discharger if i don't run them on the planned day?

oh and when it comes to nicads, do you charge linear or pulse most of the time?

any help would be appreciated.

seaball, I discharge my NiCD's right after my heat or right after I'm done playing. I only do linear charge, I'm still not totally sure what the pulse charge does on my millennium....

If you leave them on the tray for long periods of time there is a very slight possibility that the cells will become damaged. I would do what Joe does and leave them on the tray for 30 minutes to an hour after you have taken them down to 5.4 after a run, then take them off the tray and store them. When you are ready to charge them, just charge them up.

That is what I have always done and it works for me.
