Thanks for the updates. So did people skip controlled practice to save tires?

May not be wise if they seed the qualifiers based on practice laps.

There were only 2 practice rounds... So you had 3 sets of tires for 6 rounds total + 1 main. And the A-main guys could buy another set.

I'm sure you can run 2 laps warm up. Then if you feel you run 3 fast laps pull it off with only 5 laps run on the tires to conserve right? I mean I want tires for qualifiers just in case something happens where there is traffic.

id really recommend against that at asphalt races...
i think your 'race' tires should be used for just that -- racing. not practice.

I don't think they seeded by practice last year, I believe it was just random, I feel like we also only needed teched tires starting Q1, but it would be better to verify that with this years RMT.

See Post 223 by Ron...

Control Practice will be used to seed the Qualifiers.

You can definitely do that... but you have to be a pretty damn good driver to get the layout down pat in only 5 laps x 2 practice rounds.

on a track that size, does seeding really matter??? its ifmar qualifing and it is a National and except for that one guy, everyone else will know enough to get out of the way of the fast guys.

Yes because I'm sure some people won't move over for you. I'd still rather be with the "faster" guys than someone who just set there car down and needs a better setup.

Remember there is no sign up at the track the day of.
