With a USVTA, you could go have lunch while your car is on the straight.
If you are into scale modeling, VTA on this track is one of the most realistic looking and driving classes there is anywhere. With scale speeds topping out around 240mph, it is much closer to real racing than any other class. But that's just for the guys that "get it." The ones that don't and simply have a "need for speed" will be bored by it. Fortunately, there are plenty of both. Actual lap times were only about 4 seconds slower on average than boosted 17.5 last summer. That's enough time to swat the bees away and scratch or maybe even pick your nose if you're quick, but not quite enough for lunch.

Of course I was exaggerating. Just stirring the pot a bit, cause I know how enthusiastic most of the VTA guys are.

I raced some 21.5 blinky TC last year on a couple of tracks that were around half this size and they really don't seem that slow... until they hit the straight.

I know. Hope you found the humor in my post too! Here is a link to some professional photos take at a local event last year for all to enjoy. The close-ups of the scale cars on this track are incredible.

Didn't this come up last year and wasn't it stated something like as long as they don't call 17.5 "sportsman" then there is no restriction on running mod as well?

Looking at pics and video, even if they shorten the straight, its still huge, probably over 150' and the lanes are wide. Even though I ran vta at last years nats, with a 21.5 on a smaller track it felt slow. If I can manage to swing this race I'd much prefer to have some 13.5 or 10.5 option as well. (2s WGT 13.5 would be fun)

I really hope they are not going to shorten the straight about this track....please run it just like the 1/8th on road. That is the reason why this track is that good.

About the speed.......VTA is not about the speed, it is about how you can win the event with 19 others all running the same speed. 1 brand motor, 1 brand tires...very limited choice of speedo. No timing software, no Ipad, no Iphone....all skill and setup.

20 cars or even 25 cars main for 15 ro 20 minutes main is what I am looking for. Anything less is just uncivilized. LOL

I'm thinking that a Beer hat for VTA and USGT is a requirement.. You must go on the driver stand with 2 full beers and come off with 2 empty cans...

But really (not that ROAR or the track will go for this) the track and driver stand can support 20 cars on the track at one time. This would be great for VTA and USGT.... I would even say 15 for TC 17.5 Stock.... But that is me....
