BTW I stand corrected and the WD40 for 48 hours did swell them up a little. I have yet to run the car to be sure, but this should get me going until I receive the new O-rings.

Anyway I've found o-rings that are the right dimensions and which look like they could be an improvement ( they're of the orange-red variety). I've also ordered rubber sealed bearings to help with leakage. Overall cost is 7$ including shipping.
Gotcha well good luck.

Hi guys;

Just to be sure, the L/R bulkheads are spaced the same on the old Photon and the EX ? Also, are the 4 mounting points of the shock towers spaced the same ? Meaning, I could use an EX shock tower on my old Photon ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi guys,

been using the EX for a few months now and it's just awesome! One problem i have tho - i find that the steering rack has a bit of slop in it. I reckon the bearings are not perfectly suited in the crank, and as a result tthere is some slop in them. Generally not a big issue, but i have notice that the car is a tad twitchy when braking into corners... Not sure if it is at all to do with this slop, butif so, what's the best way to cure it? PS, i've tried shimming as well but with limited results. I feel that the whole crank has just too much play in it.

Any ideas?

I've been using the steering rack from the S4, no slop at all using this. Look around and see if you can get a hold of it.

Hi there
If the bearings are not glued into the rack, You can do that with CA (Be carefull with bearings and fingers). Besides that, all You need are some 0.1 0.2 0.3 spacers in different sizes, and ˝ hour available, it will be perfect after that
Good luck

Actually, "that should work" is where I'm at right now...

At 20$ for one tower, what I'm looking for is a " That will (or won't) work ".

I'm sure someone on here has tried/ could try to put one "old" tower on top of a "new" one and see if the mounting holes match. I can live with a slight change in shock position, but obviously not with incompatible mounting holes.

Thanks for your answer anyway !
