The EX hit the street around May 2012. I'm ready for an update. If they could use a higher grade of aluminum and stop the diff leaks I'd be happy. The v2 plastics could have been a little better too. But overall I do like the car, I have 3. They just need to fix some details.

my car was used and when I got it , it had some leakage but since I took it apart and rebuilt it using the same seals it has yet to leak. but in terms of new cars out there I totally understand but this car is very adjustable in terms of being able to achieve what ever you want as the arm mounts use shims so you can adjust in finer increments than say the Tamiya or xray t4-14' . but I don't really see yet what would need to be changed. so that is why I was saying why have people stopped running this car. And Franko you just like to buy everything when it first comes out . lol oh and since last year I have been mainly running off-road so I haven't switched but during last season I went through 3 cars . tc6, R1 then the ERYX 2.0

I made the switch from the Serpent Eryx to the Photon EX and so far have found the Photon EX to be very good. My diff has been leak free using standard components and green slime. The plastics seemed reasonable in the kit and overall I was happy with the way it built. The highlight for me was that tuning it was very easy and I was able to find the grip I wanted after 3 or 4 runs. I went straight for the alloy servo hanging style mount and some different springs but apart from that it is pretty much as per the box.

Rumor has it the new car will have better aluminum.

@ luda. If you are using the aluminum servo hanger. tape or glue the servo to it. I couldn't tell a difference but I guess a few people had problems with them.

It wont be until the middle of the year or so. For now i'll be testing the S4 Touring car until the new EX is announced.

I've been working trying to get some pictures of the new car. As for the S4, I've heard its not nearly the quality of the new EX that's coming. But it will be interesting to see how the S4 does.
