Having a problem with my rear universals. The stub axle holes where the cross pin slides through is too tight and I can't get the pins to even slide through. It's supposed to pivot at this point too...any tips ?

Car is going together very well. The gear diff is very nice and easy to build. We'll see how it holds up to leakage and mod next week. The hinge pin carrier barrels are no longer eccentric. You could use the Photon barrels and HML retainers or use shims under the new aluminum blocks. Unfortunately, the screws are still crap. I'll be doing some shopping tomorrow for replacements. All in all, great looking car. Can't wait to get it on the track.

There may be a slight bur from machining.... I would run a drill through it if you have one the right size, or you could try de burring the hole with a larger drill...

Just a thought, may or may not be the problem...

Still no update. Rcmarket usually scoops all international distributors. I guess things are changing....

Hmm yeah, I tried that this morning and its still super tight. I'm afraid to go too big and introduce slop.

The pin is the issue not the hole. Maybe try to trim the pin?

I plan to purchase extra pins

Exactly my feelings as I just moved from xray to top

I have some questions though!!
1. Is there a table that translates shims used for toe-in to real toe-in figure?
2. At the setup sheet there is "CENTER PULLEY NUT :" A) how does this affect perfomance? B)what is recommended tightness on asphalt low traction (only few times medium traction)
3. what is the purpose of the three holes marked on the attached picture?

Sunday will run it first time, looking forward

i agree, its the pin. I used some old pins out of an old set of cvd's and they slid in no problems. i guess wont help new photon users much.

The holes the battery retainer could be used to attach weights.

Do whatever you have to do, to get it to work. Email TOP USA or call them about the problem. And they will get the parts you need to fix your issue.
