Just getting into my build...

The manual lists a 5x9x.1mm shim behind the gear diff outdrives but it wasn't in bag b...anyone else have this issue ?

Also, where should I start for diff fluid ? Large open asphalt track, good grip.

Start at 2000 CST and once the o-rings swell up a touch (probably about 2 race days), you can go down to either 1000 CST or 1500 CST.

Hey EJ - how do you put -0.5mm of ackerman in the car? This is what the setup sheet says.

I'm sure it's a misprint and supposed to say +0.5mm. But my current setup I'm running 0mm at the bell crank. I'm sure you guys will get a lot of testing in this weekend. ;-)

Default Photon Build

For those building the car, I raised my roll center +0.5mm. I used our wide shims (same shims used to widen the hing pin) opposed to the standard M3 shim.

Also when putting together the steering knuckles use locktite. I add a small dab into the threads of the steering block. You only need a small amount. If you use too much it my leak out and bind up the steering.

it's a very small one. I also couldn't find it so I build it without it. Of course now that kit is ready I found them!
A friend who tried them he removed them as it was very tight. We will see, most likely it wont affect performance

I put losi 1000 and see from there

What is the purpose of the small o-ring used to the screw for the motor?

The small o-ring can keep the motor screw in the motor mount without motor
Thanks

I believe they are there to hold the screw in place while your doing motor changes, or just trying to get the bolt started into the motor.

Is anyone else shocked that RCMarket doesn't have Photon EX kits yet?
