New Need HELP with Ofna 1/10 JL-10 GT PLEASE!!!!
i just bought the Ofna 1/10 JL-10 GT and dont know what kind of brushless system to get for it. I want Speed But Some torque and dont want to rip up spur gear .. I was looking at 5700kv but not sure need balance between speed and little torque... Was looking at Trinity D3???? Any thoughts???? PLease!!!!

It depends on what speedo youwill get and are you going to a club or not, if you are joining a club, see what they race first before buying.
If you are not going to a club, a 6.5/8.5t is plenty enough to start for power and torque.

I just bought a JL10e as well. For a power plant I went with a Novak Havoc 3s esc and a Novak 6.5 SS Pro motor. They are both remanufactured units but they carry the same warranty their new stuff comes with. I use the same esc/motor combo in my 10th scale 4wd buggy. I've had good luck with it and liked the balance of torque and speed so I decided to use it again in the JL10e. Might pick up a 17.5 for some club racing.

with new technology you can race a 10.5 or 13.5t nearly as fast as a 5.5t.
Think that if you go for something "hot" like a 4.5t for exemple, you will need a good speedo that can take lower wind, battery packs that can take the extra power without melting, and a chassis that is made for top speed where you will not chew or melt differential gears.
And from what I see (and I do not know that model) this is not a top chassis with his centre shaft.
get a good combo speedo/motor with variable timing in say 10.5t and some good batteries 2s in 60C to get good power, the size of battery (3800/6200) is more for the lengh of time you want to run your car.
then depending on your buying, make sure you run a good ratio not to burn everything.

The first setup I had in my JL was a Castle 5700Kv. It was plenty fast. The setup I have in it right now is a HobbyWing 5.5T; on 3S it's borderline uncontrollable.

that thread has a lot of useful information on different setup, gearing, etc. Once you decide on the motor/ESC setup - just make sure your temps stay within the normal operating range (as per the Mfg) of your setup. Also, if you decide on a modified motor - stock up on diff gears, thrust bolts, outdrives, etc. My spur is still intact but I have replaced the rear diff multiple times.

Ofna 1/10 JL-10 GT
I have a Venom Lipo 3s and was wondering if it will fit in the Ofna 1/10 JL-10 GT. I just ordered it with a Venom LiPo 2S 1P 7.4V 2000mAh 20C 1/16 and realized, after I confirmed the order that it's meant for a 1/16 scale. Should I return the 2s and will the 3s fit?
