buy LOTS of extra front wheel bearings... seriously
Besides that, I loved the car. it rocked in mod, a little slow in stock due to the inefficient tranny though. Like the XXXS, some folks gave it a bad rep (the "shelf weapon"), but the car still won a ton of races (Josh Cyrul took the roar nats with it if I remember right).
Cheers,
Paul

I would pickup several of these vehicles if you can from a parts perspective.
You may also want the RPM kit that lets you use standard wheels on the SW. Only thing is that it widens the car to 200mm. So depending on how strict the track is where you race it may be illegal.

I think the lack of response isn't because of your typing, its because most of the people on this board weren't even racing when the Street Weapon was popular. I bought one when they first came out...back in '97 or so. I could never get it to be competitive. Of course that was back before you could compare setups on the Internet. The only setup help I had was one other guy at my track that ran one. We both sold them after about a year. Probably not a bad car if you can find a setup for it. However, I must ask...why not get a used car that you can still get parts for? You can get a used TC3 on Ebay for $75.

The IWC Street Weapon is a perfectly good car to get started and have fun with at the local level.Parts are not a problem-everything is still available and you can buy used whole cars for parts dirt cheap.(That Cyrul conversion car is a deal-you should buy it). There are several setup sheets for them on the Team Losi website. You didn't say whether you are running foam or rubber tires but just go off the setup sheet that is closest to what you run and you will have a very good starting point. With just a little tuning you can make the car very easy to drive and have a blast.I have used the RPM kit to convert to common hex drives but the easy way to do it is to put XXXS cvd's in the front and TC3 drive hexes front and rear.If your car already has cvd's you only need the front axles and bearings. The standard setup is hard on the front bearings.
And yes the proper english is appreciated.

I used this setup for rubber tires on carpet with these changes-
-black springs front and rear
-no sway bars
-no shims under pivot support
I just raised the front ride height a little at a time until it was balanced with traction compound all the way across the tires both front and rear.Good luck-have fun!
