dstyles - After talking to David Jun (world class Tamiya works driver) a couple of days ago, his answer would be "yes", there's definitely a drastic difference. He tested both at the Tamiya track in southern CA - home of the Reedy Race of Champions. He told me the "AP" version was.... in his own words "awsome".

This answers the question I was about to post! 1476-0 card, no hood dimples, bought in the UK a few days ago. Must have been from CML's earliest shipment.

I'm glad too - I need all the downforce I can get!

PS Dale - can I suggest an addition to the mold so the windscreen shows -00 or -01 depending on the version?

Thumbs up WINDSHIELD ID

sosidge - The windshield of each Stratus 3.0 now has "CARPET" or "ALL PURPOSE" permanently engraved in the top of the windshield. This will leave no doubt as to the model. Naturally, it will take a few weeks before these are out there in full circulation.

Thanks - Dale

DALE! Hey you really are on this forum. I thought for sure you would have answered some of the posts in the ROAR forum. I just wanted to say thank you for making such a good product. I've been using Protoform bodies since the release of the Nissan P-35 for 1/12 scale. What's that, ten years ago?

If I may make a request, how about a few american muscle cars from the ProLine series. Parma has a couple, but their 69 Camaro is awful.

By the way, I love the new ad for the Stratus 3.0 "Collect all 3." Nice!

Does anyone know of a shop that actually has the "AP" version in stock? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks

I might have missed something cause I didn't read all the pages, but to sum up:
Carpet version works on tight medium bite tracks where higher downforce is needed and the AP is more for flowing, higher traction situations?

Other way around. The Carpet version has less downforce and the AP version has more and would be used for lower grip situations.

Ah, that makes more sense. Since carpet tends to have more traction, less downforce would be in line.

Lynn, the one you sent me was the AP version. No Hood dimples and the deeper recess of the windshield. Where'd you get that one?
