All I can say is screw'em. I wish the guys that make the decisions in these santioning bodies would get off the "has to look scale" kick. I think your work is awesome. If they want more scale looking cars, go santion diecast. I think first off it must work well and second, the looks. I love to be able to run my favorite body knowing it works and not worring whether it look like the real thing. The grill is usually the only identifing thing on most bodies(no offense)with a few exceptions. Keep up the good work and I look forward to painting more of your bodies.

Dale - thanks for the reply. Seems like a pretty good system. One last question however; will the carpet version meet the minimum height requirements? I notice that with the original one, even when lowered as much as possible, I have to trim below the lowest trim line - the body is fairly high.

Exe - I'm guessing you do have the carpet version, as I have three of the original/AP 3.0s, and none have that dimple.

So, the Carpet 3.0 is more of a foam-tire version? And the All-Round 3.0 is for rubber-tires, carpet or asphalt?
BTW, some batch of the Carpet-edition lacked wingmounting screws.
I really started wondering when i first saw the Carpet-editon. It was like: "Why don't my 3.0 have those bumps on the hood?" Really confusing...........

Exe - Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you. Yes, Anders is right, you have the "Carpet " version. The hood clearance bulges are the most prominent give-away.

Speedo - both the 3.0's as well as the 3.1 will reach to the 115mm height gauge at sanctioned races with the proper amount of ground clearance. The 3.0's each have a second trim line higher up as a guide if you're able to slam the body for club racing. Just ignore that line if you're trying to set your car up for "legal" racing.

Release dates for "3.0 AP" 1476-01 and "3.1 200mm Gas" is April 15th

i Have a Dogde Stratus 3.0 1476-00 , but with no hood dimples, is this a mistake in the pacakaging?

if i'm not mistakin' so codes are the same, just ending is different, 00 and 01. but that's not on the car. i have 1746 with dimples, check 1 page back.

Speedo - good question. There was originally going to be only ONE version of the 3.0. The original version was released (in Jan 2005) then later modified (***after some bodies had already been shipped) to to improve performance on HI BITE carpet, and it turned out that the modifications really did make it work better. We were in the middle of indoor-carpet season so naturally, that was our focus. It then became clear that the ORIGINAL version worked extremely well outdoors (in Florida testing) and I decided to re-create the original mold (with no changes) and designate it the "All Purpose" because that's really the best description for it. (Low bite carpet w/larger foams, and outdoor rubber tire and rubber tire on carpet racing) Not trying to confuse any one, just provide bodies that are optimized for the different racing condition that exist. No different than in any full size racing venue - racecars and all their related components have been so refined in recent years that there is rarely a revolutionary performance gain, usually a series of small refinements and a gradual evolution in components that yield smaller, yet still important performance gains.

OK, from what im reading, i have one of the original 3.0s that was packaged under the carpet model number before the mold was updated?

So basically i have a all purpose version, thats all i want to know, because i dont wnat the carpet version lol
