Actually...that was me not PW. My PC went out and I am using another PC that PW had used before. I didn't realize I was loged in as PW. I deleted the posts because i didn't want people to think it was PW saying that stuff.

Leini - Actually, no - I used 3pr of front tires and 2 pairs of rear at Cleveland this year and every run was within 2 seconds!! Plus, I was able to use these same tires for 2 practice runs before the event and now I've run them each 4-5 more batteries at home practicing and that is cutting them down very small!!! Tell me that you can get a rubber tire to run within 2 seconds over a life of 8-10 battery packs..... Sorry but it won't happen with a rubber tire. Keep in mind that's also cutting a tire down low to start. Now, cut them a little larger and use them for local racing first and then save them once they get smaller for a big event and you have a set that is good for 15-20 runs....

Adrian - Those are European races and I personally only think that's because they haven't tried an event over there on foams to see the cost difference and how equal racing can be - Look at Cleveland - 4 seconds from the A-D mains in stock.. Less than 5 seconds in the TC mod A...

Foam tire wars have also dropped the foam prices to where they are now a cheaper than any rubber tire (wheel, insert and rim)could think of being....

I understand the concept of rubber tires on a TC but cost wise, it's way more expensive to race rubber tires than foam...

I have always used foam on carpet. I have never understood the concept of rubber tires. Right from the start when they were putting rubber caps on oval cars, rubber has always needed much more in terms of maintenance and knowledge of how to use them properly. When I got back into racing, I asked the locals about rubber tires. The people that I was asking are sponsored drivers for major players in the industry. They all said that I could run rubber if I wanted, but it was nowhere as reliable and easy to use as foam. Just read in another thread that foam lasts longer on asphalt, too. Makes me wonder who's big idea it was to run rubber at all, the companies that invested thousands of dollars that somehow need to recoup the engineering costs of something that will only drive up the costs of the end user and make their lives harder in the end? [/rant][/off-topic]

BTW, I still can't wait for the 3.0 to hit shelves.

I run rubber on carpet and I can get atleast 6 days running an average of 8 packs a day before they wear out. The set I'm running has seen atleast 4 days and haven't seen a drop in my lap times

Outdoor: Ran the same set of Take-Off 27 Premounts for 5 races before they lost traction

I dunno, Probably just depends on the track

Anyway: I'm curious to see how the Strat 3.0 performs. It'd be cool if someone could do a head to head with the Parma Alfa

See Eric Desrosiers comments earlier, I was there when he ran the 3.0. His car looked really good.
